Hi Freightrain Is this the movie star truck that is in your famous uTube video? Sure is a nice looking truck

I have used Marvels Mystery oil when I have had a similar problem in a couple of farm tractors I have worked on. Had good luck with it. Probably the same type thing as adding Rislone. Just my few thoughts

Thanks Paul, I will check that other site out. I'll keep you posted.
I am on the same page as you regarding restorations. Although I have not tackled a heavy truck, yet I have done smaller ones. I do not like to break down either. Do it right the first time

Hi Paul
Looks like a nice start on the truck. How long have you had it? I am near Philadelphia and ma looking for something along those lines as well. Cant wait to see more photos

hey thanks to all you guys. I am thinking along the same lines as all of you and just getting it so I have it. I have gotten about as many answers from folks in my area as I asked. The common comment is the air brakes and if stopped that may be the deciding factor with the law.
Thanks again

I have a questions regarding CDLs. Since I live in Penns. I would be most interested in info from PA members.
Is it required to have a CDL to drive the old dogs on the road? Does PennDot require anything special?

Hey Fuzzy Buzzard.
Since I see you have a whole stable of "B's" why don't you loan me one for a while since I don't have any yet. He He

Thanks for all the replies.
I am still learning, but I am anxious to take a crack at it. I kind of figured it had to do with the gear overlap and how the transmission is set up

I am new to this site (but having a great time). Have a general tranny question
If you have a triplex transmission, but you are not allowed to use direct and Lo split in 5th speed, how do you come up with 15 speeds.
I was looking at a truck listing on eBay and saw this on the shift pattern tag.
Pardon my "newbie" question

Just following directions and introducing myself. I am in the state of PA. No iron yet but I am sure looking forward to the day I do have some photos to post.
I made the "mistake" of going down to the Lititz show and that is all she wrote. I am hooked.
Looking forward to having a lot of fun.

Hi Freightrain
I just got hold of a couple service manuals and would be glad to copy and send any of the pages that you might need. You have a TRTL-72?
