  1. Want to buy an H63 fully restored or nearly completely restored. Will also consider an H67 (I prefer the H63 fenders.) Prefer tandem axle, 237 or 300, spring brakes. This truck will be a working unit (though not over a lot of mountains, not really heavy loads, not many days per month) so quality workmanship is imperative. 2. Nice replies from everyone, thanks. No I am not originally from Jersey. Raised in the Caribbean, but went to high school in Jersey. That job with the B61 at my early age still ranks among the two or three best jobs I have ever had -- still harbor infinite gratitude to the boss who took a chance on a teenager in 1967. Though my deep feeling is still with the B models, I drove an H model a little bit during college and it's this Mack that I hanker for. I'm just at the beginning stage of learning the very basics of truck mechanics. At age 67, I'm just too far along to want to do my own restoration.
  3. Thanks very much to everyone for the replies and help. I can see right away that these forums will be a great exchange of ideas, and a lot of fun. Dan
  4. Hello everyone, my name is Dan Millar and I am brand-new to the website and forums. I live in Seattle, and have driven trucks off and on most of my life. First big truck was a B-61 in central New Jersey hauling building products for George Schofield Inc. (see the photo attached) when I was 19. I am now looking for a completely restored or nearly fully restored H63. I would consider an H67 but really like the fenders on the 63. I intend to work the truck hauling loads, but not all that many days a month, and not really heavy loads. So I would like to ask a question about engines, and would be grateful for any advice and counsel. Can one install a 285/300 Maxidyne easily in an H63, or is a lot of modification necessary? Does the radiator have to be beefier for the 300 than for the 673? Does the exhaust system have to be wider diameter? I'll try to be a good participant in the forums, though my knowledge base is quite small. Be grateful for any help. Dan Millar millars@comcast.net tel. 206-390-1069
