  1. okay thanks. not sure how all that works, but I need a pto to run the pump to load milk, can I put a pto on that transmission and is the neutral safety on all them and just needs hooked up?
  2. been lookin and found 2 for the right price, but which is better or whats the difference between t2180 and t318l? are there othe model mack 18 speeds?
  3. once it gets a lil warmer out I wanna shine her up and the tanker and get all 3 trucks, the mack in the middle (rose between 2 thorns haha) and ill post what I can make for hp once I get it goin.
  4. yea, ran good for awhile after I got it, would keep up with our 06 kw with a sick 475 kitty, the trans still works good, but its commin out in spring for an 18sp and I called that antrim diesel and once I feel like spendin more money after this overhaul its gonna get turned up pretty good, guy named phillip (If I remember right) at antrim said he wants me to stick I on the dyno and well play with the pump after bigger injectors and turbo and see what numbers we can make. im excited, I just want my mack back now, still like the w9 but it sure aint my mack.
  5. yes I did. the one with 60,000 on an overhaul..... maybe, a very pieced together one. but now its getting done right, tryin to make a good truck outta it.
  6. okay, thanks for answerin my question on manifold and transmission. oh im sure they will, I dressed it up some already, just not done yet so didn't post pictures yet.

  8. okay, well I want it done right, I haul milk so reliability is needed. in frame it is. so do they make a different exhaust manifold? mine has a 3 piece on it now, are they problems? its cracked right where it y into the turbo on the block side. antrim diesel in greencastle pa? I was getting 5.5mpg and considerin I run the hydrolics most the day, and start and stop about 100 times a day I thought that was alright. just want a few more ponies is all. also I posted awhile ago about putting an 18 speed in it, kinda getting held off for a lil now cuz of low funds but when I do, what model should I get, do they all have the same overdrive? thanks
  9. well, mechanic said all the bearings look good and so do the cylinder walls and pistons. thinkin ill just get 2 reman mack heads and replace the 2 sleeves that are bad and make sure theyre decked the same, and put all new head bolts in. also the exhaust manifold is cracked and since I came this far to make it run I might as well go a lil deeper into the pocket to make it pull (mostly wanna eventually walk around my dads 550 cat) do they make aftermarket exhaust manifold and turbo set? and injectors? thanks.
  10. mack has to do that for a warranty tho right? its not at a mack shop. should I get reman heads or find used and get rebuilt?
  11. so, started Christmas day the head gasket blew, took it to the shop, they finally got it in last night... so im already pretty hot about that, then today I go to see progress and I see catastrophy... fire rings are wore out of BOTH heads and there is 2 liners that are wore out where the head sits too, mechanic says all the liners should be replaced @ $200 a piece, and rings @ $160 a piece and 2 heads @ $1300 a piece.... what now? I was told it had a fresh overhaul 60000 miles ago, should I try to find a new engine? and where? or can I get used heads? again, where? help please.
  12. it doesn't pull to either side goin down the road, just a shake between 55-60 mostly in 8th gear, drop to 7th and its fine. but right now its in the shop cuz it decided to blow a head gasket... so now im runnin the w9 again. when I get it back ill check more on it
  13. the truck never pulled either way goin down the road, now I really cant even check anything too much cuz its in the shop with blown head gasket. but I do know it has a bad hop between 55-60 just cruising, not on or off the throttle, but mostly when in 8th gear, drop to 7th and it settles down for the most part. but I will check it out when it gets back hopefully soon (not soon enough) and see whats goin on.
  14. is there any adjustment anywhere to make the rw turn shorter? it turns "okay" to the right, but does not turn to the left very good. and the stops on the axle are not hitting. would a different steering box be a solution? from an rd maybe? its a 1990 rw613.
  15. got my superliner on the road now and really like it a lot, but.... I want an 18 speed. I haul heavy (gvw 6 digits), and lots of hills, but I still want it to get out there and run 75 with ease. I was told my truck has 4:10 deep reduction rears, and its got a maxitourqe 9 speed. it runs great out on the interstate, but on the roads I mostly run (50-55mph) 7th is screamin and 8th is so low rpm you downshift when ya get a headwind, I got an 18 eaton fuller in my kw I wrecked, would that work or should I get a mack 18?
  16. we were thinkin about goin to dbl, dad went there to get "the big hose" in his trailer. prolly wont be till spring when we get another trailer unless the price is right. and yes she has, she still likes goin with, and I couldn't have said it better, farm pickup is like no other job. don't really matter how long you been drivin, you aint really drove truck till you haul milk, im only 21 so I aint sayin I know it all, but earlier this week we got a lil snow, and one of our part time guys who drove over the road all his life, and is everyone says is a good driver, and is now 50 called me askin for advice on how to get out of the one farm in the snow, and I ended up havin to show him how to put chains on. and we had so many guys not last a week workin part time cuz they couldn't handle it. i like to run hard, but i sure as hell aint gonna push myself as far as last time.that was prolly the most stupid thing i ever did. but like you said sivart llc, it needs done no matter what.
  17. just checked the u joints and the une behinh the carrier bearing had some slop, but the carrier bearing seemed fine. also, is there stops in the steering box? it don't turn very short to the left, and the stop on the axle aint against, and nothing else appears to be hitting. is there a way to adjust it?
  18. will do. just took it out for a run today pickin up dads load to make sure everything works good before I spend too much on it. grossed 103,000 and it didn't do too bad, besides when dad was drivin he missed a gear on the big hill and we ended up in first and had to work it back up hahahah, rookies. the only 2 complaints I have with the truck is the shifter leanin back, and the dynatard is not like the big kitty cat I was used to, pulls good but don't hold back very well. and at 55 it occasionally has a pretty bad shake if youre on the throttle, back outta it and it stops... any ideas on that?
  19. well, I put a wide ride 2 low pro seat in, the only problem I found is if I put the right armrest down it hits the shifter for low and 4th, and when I put my shifter extention on it almost hits the back window, I think im gonna bend it some.... and yes she still goes with, was with me about a week after the wreck, said she probably would never sleep in the truck again tho,,, and was sleepin before we got halfways loaded.
  20. yes, there was an angel cuz my girlfriend was with me too, fell asleep, woke up after it was too late, got a first seat to it all, got trapped, had to be cut out, got took to the emergency room cuz they thought my leg was broke or gonna be f***ed up cuz of no blood flow for an hour and less than 15 hours I was in a spare truck and trailer and pickin up my other load of milk. luckily we did not loose any milk, no need to cry haha, but I invested so much money time and life in that truck, but it wont stop me. my gf says im nuts, but milkman is a lifestyle not a job ha. anyhow... was thinkin 2 6" straits on it, maybe a small resister under tha cab, painting the frame and rears and a visor, more gauges, another drivers seat (bostrom wide ride low pro) and a good cleanin and polishin. post more pics as im workin. im also lookin for a milk trailer to buy if anyone else is familiar with this business, 7500 gal or bigger. thanks
  21. I also just wanted to thank everyone for wishin me luck and congrats and all. ill probably try to figure out how to add more pics tonight, maybe interior? but gotta pick corn today.
