Thanks very much. Regarding the emblem, the truck in the '78 brochure doesn't have it so I left it off. Personally, I think that emblem is a bit fussy and doesn't really go with the Mack script and RS emblems so it suited me to leave it off. If I'm honest I'm not really a fan of the name either. Mack obviously wanted it to fit in with the Cruise-Liner and Super-Liner model range but I prefer the old 'RS/RL600' terminology.

I am in complete agreement. I never was crazy about that name, either, always preferred the RS/RL badging. Let me say again that is a spectacular effort. Congratulations.

Spectacular, particularly the engine decal. Question arises, though: where are the Value Liner emblems?

Love the angled gauges, haven't seem those for a very long time. You've sure gotten good usage out of that rollback.

A turbo is a fairly effective muffler on its own. A non-turbo has the potential to be pretty raucous, unless you like that type of thing (which I don't). A straight-piped 237 makes about the sweetest sound ever IMHO.

Nice little R. Probably a 237 by the looks of the breather. Twin horns. Lund visor. Single axle. All this translates to a great hobby truck.

Always amazing to me how helpless a bobtail is in the snow.

It's still in use periodically. I once considered going to work for them just to get a crack at driving that, but they are not much in the pay department.

video. This guy's secret is not only in the shifting, but most importantly in the way he uses the throttle. NO
SUDDEN MOVEMENTS of the throttle results in a very smooth technique.

Beautiful bulldog. What is the escort vehicle? We don't have anything like that in the states...

I initially felt bad when you were going to remove the fifth wheel. But that red body with aluminum inserts (diamondplate?) between the ribs will really dress up that RS. Could be a stiff ride for the vets, though--watch for those speed bumps!

Very nice find. I've always thought a 237 with a quad would be a lot of fun. You split only when you feel like it. Not to mention that from a historical standpoint, the 237 was a trend setter and probably Mack's finest effort. As far as the quadbox is concerned, that setup must have been used for a while in its former heavy-tractor duty. You'll be fine with it.

Question: The sprocket drive unit would have been a differential type, wouldn't it? Or did they just use a "straight axle" type of setup?

Very nice Mack. I bet that Maxidyne sounds nice with that stack, too. Sure did shine up great! I too like the RS/RL's best.
