  1. I am getting good fuel... I think... i set up a temp system where the fuel tank was and have good fuel to the pump and the carb... it sounds like it wants to start but doesn't successfully fire..
  2. Just finished reassembling my 707A gas engine after a rebuild. Trying to start it, and i can hear it "sputter" or "hiss" and try to start but no joy... it did back fire once... any ideas??

  4. Unfortunately there is not. The part I am lost on is attaching the arm to the sprocket on the outside of the transmission and "how" to do that. At one time I saw that someone posted the instructions on BMT but I can no longer find it.
  5. Looking for some advice. I just placed the engine and transmission back into the chassis of my L Model Mack Fire Engine. After placement i placed the clutch arm/bracket and I do not know how to set it. It seems like it is not releasing in far enough when I push the pedal. Any advice is appreciated.

  8. Can anyone tell me if this is a problem? Should I braze all but the two "original" holes shut or will it cause NO problems having multiple. Already have to braze the milled surfaces to line up the two manifolds... this is the "top" of exhaust.. TIA. **BTW 1950 Mack 85LS**
  9. Hello all! I have a CF Fire Truck and recently had the steering wheel restored. I put the wheel back on and all worked however now sporadically when I engage the turn signal the horn sounds... it does have a center horn button and that works fine... Same thing also happens when the flashers are engaged... Any advice is appreciated!!

  11. Can anyone tell me what the "cutout" on the bottom of an F model steering wheel is for? It is cut from where the sprocket would be attached to the shaft. Thanks in advance
  12. Can anyone tell me what the notch is for on the underside of a CF steering wheel? Seems like a cutout and notch on the wheel itself around the internal teeth. Is there a specific way the wheel must go back on??

Anyone know how i convert the Mack part number for an 85LS pumper, master cylinder??the casting number is FE-1575 but there are lots of variations to that casting.. not looking to send to white post, as the original is too far gone... found them online but dont know which one... the mack number is 8QE44.. thanks in advance..
