  1. Working on an E-& Etech Aset. Fuel outlet fitting on ECU stripped while removing steel fitting on line from aluminum fitting on ECU. Anyone have a method of repair short of replacement of ECU? Threads too far gone to dress and make hold. Tried that. Thinking of removing ECU, cutting off fitting, drilling, tapping and installing an oring boss by jic fitting. Don’t know if there is enough material in fitting boss to support this repair. Would appreciate any input. Thanks.
  2. Hello. My name is Alton Forbus from East Texas. Worked for a Mack dealer for 15 years. Been self employed for 24 years as a mobile technician. My service truck is a 1980 Mack R Model. Do truck, heavy equipment and stationary equipment repair.
  3. Three times I have seen either some sort of stop leak in one case and rust, rubber and debris in two other cases pack up in the right rear water galley surrounding the rear portion of the #6 sleeve. I guess because the crap travels downhill and settles around #6 liner. In every one of those cases, there was piston damage( melting) going on. Had to do a thorough cleaning job on that corner while liner was out to correct the problem. It also caused the air compressors to heat up hastening their departure as well. Hope this helps.
  4. Not at all. Use a jack and jack the cab up. Remove air line and fitting from bottom of bag. Pick up a little more and bag is threaded on top. Just screw it out and reverse to install. Make sure you check and put a plug in the top of the bag if there is a hole before you install.
  5. No cross threading. Trying to see if a tool I have will fit another engine. The other engine manual gives the specs. Mack's doesn't. It did not work out. Was looking for M28X1.5. Mack is 30MM best I can tell.
  6. I have found the seat on the fuel overflow valve either with a pin hole in it or just not seating to cause this exact problem on more than a few occasions.
  7. Does anyone happen to know the diameter and thread pitch on an E-7 injector bore for the clamp nut?
