I wonder what the wrecker driver is thinking....

The whole truck was run by a single cylinder, which operated a rack and pinion which drove a chain to lift the rear bucket. To dump the non compacted trash you would hook chains to the rear bucket that would open the rear door. When the door was open you would lock the rack and run the cylinder and the whole body would lift like a dump truck.

It's got a cummins and Allison. Can't remember the specifics off hand but will let you know

That's very fortunate for you lol. Acura wanted $6000ish to do the trans, I couldn't see spending 6k on a car worth 9 at best. I just wish I read about this problem before it happened and I could have just put an aftermarket cooler on it.

It is at beam, what doesn't look right? Ballard didn't really back up the truck we bought from them last year so....tryin out Pete's support

If any of you or your wives own an mdx check this out. Last Sunday while driving down the road our mdx started to redline so the wife pulled over so I could investigate. I discovered trans fluid pouring from the front of the car. Towed the car to my inlays cause it was only 4 miles away and they have a lift. Once on the lift we found that a line running to the trans cooler(located in the radiator) had blown out. Literally blown the threads out of the fitting. New radiator$151 trans fluid and coolant $90 and then discovered that the 60 seconds of running time time from the first sign of trouble had killed the trans. Wicked bummer. If you have an mdx google the trans problem and be proactive otherwise it'll get quite costly.

I never heard it go. Just a violent shaking that alerted me to the issue.
An 11r24.5 makes some noise

It happens, but the thing I hate most is when one goes, it scares the crap out of me. The BANG!!! The flying rubber you can barely see through the cloud of dust. I just can not keep calm when I lose one.

Thanks Loadstar. Your are right, it's getting more and more common. Very very sad for everyone. Motorcyclist, please be careful.

That's where our EF came from

Hell yes! We can sleep when we're dead. Live everyday like its your last. Work hard now, play hard during the rut. (Hunting season starts sept 15 & I just bought a new. Crossbow) the tourists will have spent their money and be gone before we know it.

Summer time for a garbageman in a beachfront community is crazy! Works been crazy, family life's been busy and free time doesn't exist. Sadly we lost an incredible friend/family member/employee in a motorcycle accident on the 4th. Trying to find good help is tough, finding help to replace a guy like the one we lost, impossible. Our new peterbilt arrived at the "body" shop, should be generating revenue shortly. My kids are enjoying summer life while im working long days. The wife is miserable because she just had her last two wisdom teeth removed. I barely have time to cut the grass, however I did run into an old family friend who after ten years of nagging has finally agreed to "talk" about selling his old truck to me. By truck I mean bronco, a 1972 ford bronco with a fiberglass tub and 302 boss, four speed on the floor and a Detroit locker in the back. We've yet to discuss the price but its been sitting for 20+ years and needs a little cosmetic work. Any input on any of the subjects above would be appreciated. Thanks guys. Hope everyone is having an awesome summer

Do you have a second truck with the same wheels/tires? Switch em out and see if the wobble/hop stays with the tires or the truck. It'll be the cheapest and quickest way to check.
This sounds like a good idea

I've been watching and anxiously anticipating an update from Digdug on his superliner septic pumper. Has anyone been in contact with him?

This truck has been to the dealer many times, most recently was there on Monday. They have never said a word about it. Back to Ballard I suppose
