Anyone around CT have good fenders for sale? mine need some work and im in a time frame pinch to finish the truck so if anyone has fenders in good shape let me know, also do you know of anyone that bends aluminum, i was hoping to get new skins for the hood instead of fixing what i have but i am having trouble finding a place that can do it
-
im 22 and always have been into construction, trucks and what not, I saw a b model at a tractor pull at a fair last year and just had to have one. now i am in the middle of a complete restoration of the truck to have it ready for spring. Not only do they look completely bad a$$ but the history behind every b model is just amazing, if only they could talk and tell stories of what they have gone though

ya iv got to find the cord for the camera and then will have the pictures up, will an r model power steering box work? i was hoping to find something that will bolt in fairly easily, i dont need to complicate things more than they already are
-
so i have the B75 completely torn down to bare frame rails, the cross members, suspension and everything is off of it. I am going to sandblast and paint it hopefully next week, but i am looking to put power steering on it, does anyone have a set up forsale or know where to buy one? I could also use fenders, mine are fixable but if i can find better ones for a reasonable price then i would be very interested in them. I have pictures of everything comming apart and what it is at now but they are on the camera, i will download them and post them when i have a chance to

I have a question about the floor in the b75, can i take a b 61 cab and just remove the floor and make new, recessed, floor pannels for the b61 cab so that it matches my b75 cab? or are the dimensions of the height and build of the cabs completely different?

i live in Newtown, my house is about 3 miles from the scene, i dont know anyone personally that was a victim but the town is a sad place. just driving down the main road that goes through town gives you chills. I know many of the volunteer firemen that were around the scene and they said it was/is a very tough place to be. To point a finger as to why or what caused this to happen just wont help anything, at this point what is done is done and unfortunatly we cant go back in time and change what has happened. All we can do is give our thoughts, prayers, and support to all of the victims, familys, and first responders of this tragedy

ya agreed, that is going to b a mighty heavy load for a 1500, i would avoid hills and go at the right time of day when traffic is at its lowest and give it pleenty of braking room

ha wow you lucked out big time. ya see thats what i am looking for, info like that on if it is going to be a full inspection or is an early america one will be simplier. and that is good to know about the not for hire because anything i would tow would be my personal stuff. i will have to find an inspector at dmv when i am ready to get it registered and ask them what i will need
-
ya i always wondered what the not for hire on the door ment. i have my cdl so i am not worried about that but it seems like every different person at dmv has a different answer on what i need to do and how to register the truck. when i bought it someone told me that i didnt need to get it inspected if i got early america plates for it, turns out they were wrong and its my fault for not checking that out before buying it but its gunna take alot of electrical work and all new tires since they have cracks in them so its going to be a while before its on the road
-
ok much appreciated, thank you. i may end up having to go commercial because i would like it to pull the tractors to the fairs but im not totally sure yet
-
-
ok thanks, i have a b75 B cab, so the b 61 cab isnt the same for this? i would need a b81 cab if i wanted to switch cabs? chances are i am going to just fab up new stuff but if i find the right deal on a cab you never know
-
Yes you can go from 4 6 volt batteries to 2 group 31 12 volt batteries a lot less money and easier to maintain I have done this on all three of my trucks
Is that a JD 630 or 720 in your profile pic? Iv got farmalls but iv had my eye on a JD 720, i dont really use the tractors for work that much, mow a field every once in a while, i mostly just use them for lawn orniments and doing tractor pulls at the fairs, thats why i bought the mack, so i could have something cool to pull the tractors to the fairs with

ok thats what i thought but i wanted to check before i went and messed anything up, this is my first truck and its going to be a biiiiig learning curve to figure all of this stuff out. all the help is greatly appreciated, thanks
-
let me know what you find. I am in the exact same position you are. its my first one and mine is a 63 b75, same thing, needs a floor and back lower part of the cab
-
Ok i got the B75 2 days ago. i will take pics nd post them soon but i have a few questions. it has 4 6 volt group 4 batteries on it that are stone cold dead so i roll start it to get it running. Truth is i dont really want to buy $500 worth of batteries for it replacing them, A friend told me that i can replace them with 2 12 volt group 31 batteries. Do you guy know if i can do that? or what are your thoughts on it? Also for all of you guys in CT, how did you register your truck? Did you get early america plates for it or just register it normally? And you had to get it inspected then correct? not just a vin check.
-
ya it pictures alot better than it is, the back of the cab on the bottom needs to be cut and patched and the floor of the cab needs attention. The hood is in good shape, it is aluminum. And the fenders you can see, they arent on the top of my list to replace yet because the cab needs the attention first but over time ill get to everything. Its a 50 footer but i can do a little at a time, it needs a bit more work than i really wanted but its close to me and he will deliver it so it was easy to get. when i get it ill post some pictures
-
Well I bought it. It needs some lovin that's for sure, but it ran good. It will end up being a long term project. He is going to deliver it for me next week. I got it for 4k delivered so hopefully with time and lovin it will end up nice

Is there anything specific that i should look for? besides rust and things like that, i dont know all that much about the B macks so i figured it wouldnt hurt to ask you guys about it. Thanks
-
what do you guys think of this truck? i am going to look at it tommarrow, it would be my first mack
