  1. Bear in mind, some air routing schematics are only avail in service bulletins. Found out the hard way working on a trtxl1070b
  2. Check the crankcase and oil pressure sensors behind the ecm for leaks. They can intermittently fault and cause it when the ecm sees no oil pressure for a sufficient amount of time. Dealer should be smart enough to check all this stuff, if you didn't get it fixed ask for a printout of all the dtcs when they hooked to it and see what they see.
  3. Exclusively use coolant (I believe? Check manual if you need me too) to lube them for install. They don't like incompatible fluids and will cause the seals to swell and make them goddamned near impossible to install. I don't remember silicone being involved but it's been awhile since I was that deep in an e7, too busy with MP8s
  4. Glad you got it sorted. I haven't really heard of that issue happening with that particular curative but if you let me know what the nox codes were I can give you more relevant information, bearing in mind that excessive or insufficient EGR flow causes all of the above madness due to def overdosing to compensate for high inlet nox levels. I don't know what difference there is with Fleet Impact and ours at the dealer level but the service tab will give you some applicable fsb (narrow to bulletins, no keyword, in additional search values). All service bulletins will appear in EMEDIA at the dealer level, but service newsletters have also covered troubleshooting PPID5396 codes for SCR efficiency, I can rattle off numbers to see if your dealer will fax or email you copies of any you can't find on the dealer portal. I'll be looking into more tomorrow but it's been slamming at work.
  5. Heavy enough to kick your ass. Leave the tires on and use a sheet of vinyl mudflap or something similar. Daytons are why we have wheel dollies, hub/drum is about 325lb
  6. There's some bulletins kicking around, mostly software updates, concerning performing a crystal sublimination and reprogram. Give your warranty dept. a call and see if you have any voluntary PI's/Campaigns outstanding.
  7. First time for everything? 2003 CV713 snowplow. In the past six months I've probably changed 20 ETech flywheel housing but this week, I first encountered the dowel pin in the crank flange used to locate the flywheel sheared off. No one amongst the shop has ever seen it, had a helluva time getting a pin. Flywheel wasn't loose, runout/endplay all good. Anyone seen this, ideas on a cause?
  8. fwiw.. My time before working for a Mack shop was endlessly spent swapping the old, NON-SCR dpf's around like hot cakes for cleaning, changing cracked ARD heads, and every egr issue you can imagine. The technology has come a long way, keeping the DEF from freezing in the pump goes a long way to prevent failure, beyond that it's mostly NOx sensors and EGR delta-p's. Paccar (engines) and Detroit have the same variety of issues.
