"If You Can't Shift It Smoothly, You Shouldn't Be Driving It"

Nothing like a blast of Ego to humble the masses. I'm not the greatest at shifting by a long shot, but unlike all of you,I wasn't born with "the touch",I've had to work at getting better and shifting smoother. Doesn't help that most of what I've driven has been without a tach (or ANY gauges in a couple of trucks) and have had mis-matched boxes (common on ranch trucks around here, where they use whatever is lying around to get the truck back to work.) I applaud your talent and pious nature!

Good luck on it. Looks like it'd be a cool camper/motorhome if the conversion's worth a damn. Last conversion I looked at that was that age was a '47 Dodge, and even I had to walk all hunched over in it. Maybe THAT'S what the bubble is for. (over the kitchen?) With a rebuilt engine in it,depending on the quality of the conversion and general health of the rest of the bus, maybe $2-4,000 would be fair. The tires look okay from what I can see,but if they're weather cracked it'll add over a thousand to the expense to make it a driver. I certainly wouldn't mind owning it if I could pull together a reasonable offer!

Never know there were anyother brand of truck other than a Mack.It like compareing apples and bananas. My father always told us boys you stick with what got you there in the first place.Mack was the only truck that you could buy that was Mack from bumper to bumper.

True story there-just the opposite of Cornbinders, where,if you didn't have the "Build Sheet" you couldn't order parts for 'em.

I bought my first home from a man who had an early 60's Stude longbed pick up-the first half ton pick up I'd ever seen with a factory 5 speed in it. It had the V-8 and dual exhausts made of 2" galvanized plumbing pipe clear to the rear bumper,no mufflers. That truck sounded AWESOME. It'd almost crack windows every time he shifted or backed off the throttle.

I agree, but, you know what? I don't care! They can put me on whatever list they want. I refuse to lower myself to THEIR level just to get along.
I may not be able to change the world, but I intend to surround myself with others who live with the beliefs and standards of the way it used to be. At least I can make my little corner a little better. If everyone else does the same, maybe the world can be a little better.

    Merry Christmas,my friends!

Sorry Bro,you're right. I'm too old anyway. She IS a doll though. Besides,I can't afford any more live type keepers unless they can pay their own way. Only reason I can even afford trucks is I don't bring 'em home unless they're either free or traded for,and they don't eat unless I use 'em.

Is Bri (Brianna?) or Kim available? B)

Has there ever been another White House occupant in history who had so many derogatory nicknames,or a seemingly unlimited supply of jokes about him? I guess we need to laugh at him, though the jokes he provokes come at a high price for America.

BTW-Where's MY damned Obamaphone?? I'd like to stick it where he'll have to have it on "Vibrate" to know if it's ringing.

  8. :SMOKIE-RT: I was with a redheaded girl for 13 years, and she was a little rough at the time but not that bad. Never did get married officially, but were common law married. Finally we realized the magic was gone and split up. She "got religion";we still talk on the phone from time to time.

BTW-the other two ladies are fine looking too,but I can't resist a Redhead-maybe it's because guys always say they're "troublesome",and I'm just not comfortable unless everything in my life's "troublesome".

Well-I've been tryin' as hard as I can to give all the Liberals heart attacks, but they're too dim to understand, and I can't "dumb things down"any more than I already have. Obviously the intellectual approach doesn't work, (and they have the balls to call Conservatives stupid!) and it's still against the law to hunt 'em. :idunno: ....What's that saying about "Don't try to teach a pig to sing....."
