Hi all, looking for some guidance of what I need to fix an oil leak at my oil cooler. I am not getting any coolant contamination, only an external leak.

2000 CH613 E7 460 with around 2m miles and 50k hrs

i believe it’s leaking oil from both sides of the top 1” crossover pipe to the oil filter housing, and possibly both sides of the lower “log” section. Should oil be able to leak from the lower gaskets, or does that seal coolant? It’s hard pinpoint as the fan has blown oil all over everything. Only able to upload one photo.

Am I correct in thinking I can remove only the upper section and reseal the oil side without draining the coolant and pulling the whole cooler? It’s always had a small oil leak in the 6 years I’ve owned it, but this sub zero weather this year seems to have opened it up much worse. Thank you for any insight.

Thank you Joey Mack, good to know.

I see the reseal kits online show 3 of the hexagon shaped gaskets, does the middle gasket seal oil on one side of the cartridge when it gets sandwiched in the lower section? I suspect my oil leak is up top but if that doesn’t solve it I’m assuming I’ll need to dig into the lower section.
