E6 power steering pump/air compressor

Hey all, I took off my power steering pump to fix a leak that looked like it was coming from in between the power steering pump and the air compressor. There’s a little coupler that connects the two to each other, the power steering to coupler had an o ring in the machined groove on the coupler, but there was no o ring on the machined groove on the coupler to air compressor side. It didn’t look like there’s a seal inside the air compressor, all I see is a bearing, is there not suppose to be a seal for the compressor? Is it just the power steering that should be sealed? Please explain how these are supposed to seal, thanks in advance!

with 2 orings. or a football gasket on the steering pump side and an o-ring on the compressor bearing side. oil will be inside the coupling housing, but wont leak out if the 2 orings or gasket and oring is in place. I prefer the football gasket for the steering pump side.
