I have a 1980 Mack super liner and I was driving the other day and the clutch spring came off and ended up on the floor. I looked at this thing three separate times staring at it for probably about an hour and I can’t see anywhere where the clutch spring attaches to that connects to the pedal. Can anybody explain it to me or better yet? Have some pictures?IMG_4469.thumb.jpeg.e9bef4e92a1a5a5e8a267c1ac5d78189.jpegIMG_4468.thumb.jpeg.10782d4dd27c3da0e7a498f592e32b22.jpegIMG_4467.thumb.jpeg.40d3f008483852acc2d6e13dfc7b6912.jpeg

My guess is the hole in the sheet metal gave out, and the spring pulled through the metal. You should see the torn out hole in the cab framework

Reckon it attaches through the hole top red circle and hooks onto the pedal bottom red circle. Blue circle there looks like wear mark on side of pedal stop plate from the spring. And below the hole above it looks like wear marks too.

Kinda heavy looking spring for a pedal return. Looks like a Q brake shoe retaining spring.

See how you go.

the spring will be stretched when in place. there should be a broken hole in the sheet metal frame work of cab. you can drill another hole next to the broken hole, hook the spring there, then use a stout phillips screwdriver to pry the spring to the clutch pedal arm.
