Reo Engines

Recommended Posts

Been looking over my "new" 1948 EG Mack and noticed that it has a Reo overhead valve 6 cyl. engine. The carb appears to be the same as my 401cu flathead. Anyone have info on 'Reo' engines? I assume that the engine is not stock but I'm just guessing.

Yep you are 100% corect it ain't stock, there was a repower sometime. If I remember right the REO OHVs didn't come out untill the early 50s. Look around for a number stamped in a pad somewhere. ie OH 200 or simular.

John Evans,
