END 673P .....Got the timing gear cover off , and the gears off the end of the camshaft but can't for the life of me find what is stopping the camshaft coming out the front . Other engines I've worked on have a crescent shaped retainer running in a groove somewhere inside but nothing like it here. When we jiggle it front to back thiere s a 1/16 th end float and it makes a click that seems to be coming from behind the rear main . Any ideas as to the location of the magic retainer ?
