ardakota Posted June 25, 2015 Share Posted June 25, 2015 this truck has been really good over the last year we have had it we did the egr block plate when we got it due to the egr cooler leaking. has ran great but the other day the light came on and its code 4-5 and the turbo actuator quit working the computer showed the code and low power shorted to battery so we pulled the wiring harness apart and checked wires no short from actuator connector to J2 plug at ecm all 3 wires from actuator tested good. and we get 5 volts on the voltage reference wire i believe its number 3 in plug at the actuator. When this started the turbo was cycling open and closed causing the truck to surge then it just quit doing anything. The only thing I can figure is the actuator or ecm. Or where should I look next. Dieselwrenches Posted August 2, 2015 Share Posted August 2, 2015 Calibrate turbo, replace actuator if still a problem, make sure and turn your vanes by hand with actuator disconnected and make sure they move freely what turbo it's bad.
