jakebrake86
Last week my dump truck ate up the top ring gear bearing in the rear carrier. It was full of oil, but I guess old age just finally got it. By the time I got it limped home, even the housing was toast. Anyhow, funding was pretty short so I opted for the used takeout option. I got the axle housing cleaned up, dropped in the ''new'' chunk, and now it's puking oil out of the vent tube. It's not making any noise, and it doesn't seem to be getting any hotter than the front axle. Any ideas on what could be the problem? smorse54
Make sure you have a 45 degree street elbow between the vent and carrier. This will elevate vent and make it level. Also make sure it's not overfilled. Steve
jakebrake86
Well I'll be danged if that didn't stop it. Thanks, man. I put a 4" nipple and a 45 elbow in and it solved the problem. Quote Jake
