stevenjohnston2 Posted September 20, 2010 Share Posted September 20, 2010 Hey guys this is my first time posting on this forum, but I just completed a valve set on a 94 mach with an E7-427 engine. I set the intake to 0.016", the exhaust to 0.024" and the jake slave piston to 0.080", these are the specs on the valve cover and the jake spec I found online. After setting that I noticed that the injector tubes and injector lines on the side of the head looked like they were weeping a bit so I gave them a bit of a tightening. The truck ran when it came into the shop but idled a bit rough so that's why we did the valve set. Now the truck won't start it just pumps out white smoke from the stacks. Zippy63 Posted October 1, 2010 Share Posted October 1, 2010 The white smoke tells me the diesel isn't burning. If I understand, it run rough, u did the rail. Did u start the engine then tightened the injector line or it never started. If it didn't start make sure the engine was In time and u had the right spec. If it started then died u may have cracked one of the fuel lines when u tighten the lines and got air in the pump. 9speed Posted October 6, 2010 Share Posted October 6, 2010 What does it sound like turning over...no compression? the timing marks for the valve adjustment are CRITICAL!
