cranecrazy2 Posted September 8, 2006 Share Posted September 8, 2006 I purchased a 1980 Mack R-686ST it has (4) 6 volt batteries was wondering if I can change these to (2) 12 volts? CML Service Posted September 9, 2006 Share Posted September 9, 2006 Buck, You should be OK changing to 2 - 12V batteries. Use the best you can buy group#31 950 or 1000 CCA. I run my R model with 2 batteries and have never had a problem. Just be sure the starter and the wiring is in good shape.
