Ken, All four straps in two parallel lines. As opposed to the straps pulling on an angle toward the sides. I've noticed that's how they usually are on car hauling trailers.

One of my old friends with plenty of experience with cars in enclosed trailers told me to always keep the straps parallel so if one comes loose the car won't end up against the sidewall.

Ken, If your E7 is like my E6's, the compressor sits on a table. loosen the bolts that come up through the table into the compressor. There may be bolts that move the compressor to tighten the belt then re tighten the mount bolts. Check the table for cracks.
