I had my wife take these pics a few years ago. These were taken in Nanuet NY at the southbound exit. They were shifting these precast pieces for about a week. The RD 800 had an old school Williams lift axle valve with the lever and gauge mounted on top of the dash.
Cheers, Robert
Great pictures. Thanks. Do they still have the DM800?

I'd love to meet the genius that came up with the idea of the permits. All it has accomplished is increasing the amount of trucks on the road. More fuel, more traffic, more cowboys ... and don't let anyone kid you, the roads are not safer or lasting longer.

Volvo discontinued mack gliders. Seems to be a big mistake to me considering Freightliner and Western star sell a lot of them
I agree. What a shame.
-
Can you get a Granite glider? And, better still one set up for an older mechanical engine?

Thanks Paul. Any idea why someone would go with that setup? I could understand if the truck had smaller rubber and you wanted to put aluminum buds on the front but I am wondering what the purpose is when the truck is on 24".

Almasi's CL with an E9 at Englishtown. RD tri axle at Englishtown.
That RD is spotless. Almost hard to believe it is a working truck.

Love the big RD800s. Any idea what they have for drivetrains? Saw one like this a few years back and it only had a 300 with a automatic trans.

I've seen the Spencer truck in person, its really something! the worksmanship is first class, really just a neat truck! thanks for posting the pictures..............................Mark
I remember seeing that truck at the shows. He used to fire up a "hit and miss" engine on the back.

One final note on this matter. In reviewing Hank's recently I noticed that at least several members there have taken photos, postcards, etc. that they did not produce and placed "XXX collection" on it. I am no expert, but I don't think taking something someone else produced and placing "XXX collection" on it makes it XXX's. As others have noted, they have a peculiar way of looking at things and, in the case of taking someone's product and then objecting to anyone else using it, a very hypocritical one.

Some of the first photos that I posted on Hank's Forum were scans that I made from my company's newsletter/magazine, the very next day they were removed, so I realized then, it was a no-no.I've posted pictures from Dave Faust and Gary Morton on the Brockway Site, I asked and was granted permission to do it by them, it was that simple.
One of my pictures was good enough to make The Bulldog Magazine, as long as they gave me credit for the photo, it was OK with me.
Just curious, have you ever downloaded a picture from this website? If so, did you ask permission beforehand?
People seem to have conflated what is legal with what is okay. Is it legal to take a picture of someone or something without getting permission? Probably. Is it okay to do so? If I understand their position, it is that they have the right to take pictures regardless of whether they have permission to do so and they have the right to do whatever they want with them, including putting them on the internet and/or selling them, but others do not have the right to share them within the hobby even with attribution. This petty bs and what has been going on at the ATHS is going to drive people away from the hobby. Grow up already.

I often see a green R tandem dump in Anderson's yard that says "Zacny Horsham, pa" on the side of the body. Same guy?
Pretty sure. Any pictures of it?

No, I thought it was a joke- Dr. Phil telling anyone they need fucking help on a Demotivational poster is a joke, certainly nothing to get all bent out of shape over.
Joke or not, it certainly was gratuitous. No need for it and Vinny seemed to take it hard. He even quit the site for a while over it, which is why I raised the point initially.
-
that was the Dr. Phil picture?..I saw that.
Yeah, that's the one. I would say telling a 12 year old he needs fu*king help constitutes gratutious cursing, wouldn't you?
-
To each his own... I like the jokes and other odds and ends as much as anything else here...kinda nice to get a little break from the rat race of trucking 6 days a week. I go to JOT once in a while, it's OK, they have some interesting stuff, but there is absolutely no humor or joking about anything going on there.
I also like that there's no "gratuitous cursing" here, never has been to my knowlege. People may say a cuss word here and there, as people do in everyday life. I don't think you can go a day without hearing cussing somewhere, whether it's from people talking, the CB radio, television...it's just how the world is.
I miss Rob too, he was great.
Guess you missed the thread Rob started titled "Vin (the 12 year old) ... you need fu*king help."

Looks like a lot are jumping ship, I wonder if that is where everyone went? oh well, maybe they got tired of telling u model jokes.Hard to say. While seeing multiple threads dedicated to U models and "was there any U models?" in nearly every other thread does get old, I think just as many people were tired of some of the attacks and the gratuitous cursing as in Rob's "Guess I F***ed up" thread. To each his own, but I come here for the trucks, not the jokes and other odds and ends. And, having visited the other sites, I can honestly say that BMT has the best threads on construction trucks and technical assistance. We also seem to have set a record for online members recently. Maybe a little less of the BS and a little more of the good stuff will bring some of the old members back.

Looks like Rob is on the new site.

Who wound up with Tom Zacny's RD and all the antique stuff?
-
Genovese from Stamford
Love these old fleet shots. Looks like it includes a military/L model.

Will an E9 400 turbo work?

Zoppo
Nice looking truck. Hell of a gap between the top of the tire and bottom of the fender. Must have blocks on the front axle.
-
Was expecting an Other Dog T and A shot.
Fail.
-
Yes there are a few Superliners.....
Have any pictures of the heavier stuff? There were many former NY, NJ and KY DM800s, RD800s and RD600SXs in PR at one time.
-
Love the overspray on the rad and the half black, half red hoses.

I have never seen another DM800 with dual stacks. Know any of the details on this truck?
