  1. Thanks, I went to Speciality tires but it did not show the 11.00-24ml listed. I wanted to replace the old 1100x24 tires on this old lj wrecker. Wouldn't be using it for anything just wanted it to look authentic and driveable. I know the 24 in antique tires are available but they wouldn't look right and way to $. If I changed the rims (Budd) what would be the tallest tire I could find (probably 24.5 rims)?
  2. Check me if I'm wrong; looks like the 8.25x24.5 tire is about the same diameter (41 1/2") as the ten hundred twenty tire; is that correct? Might as well stick with the ten hundred.
  3. Brain must have shorted out; truck has Budd ten-hole rims. What would be the tallest tire and rim compared to the original 1100 24?
  4. Dayton rims. What would be the tallest tire and rim compared to the original 1100 24?
  5. So, is it the consensus that I wont be able to replace the 1100 24's on the truck> Nothing else will fit the rims? What tire (rim) would be approximately the same diameter (height) as the old 1100 24's?
  6. Are there any tires that will interchange with the 1100 24 tire? ron
  7. Are there any tires that will interchange with the 1200 x 24 tire? ron
  8. What engines were used in the 1947 Mack LJ's? ron
  9. Thank you but now I'm confused. My whlbse based on the diagram is 183"...…………………..(1965 B75). ron
  10. Thank you J. How do you measure the whlbse on a three axle?
  11. What is the turning radius of the Mack B-75 three axle? ron
  12. I am referring to the AC Mack truck. The spindles rotate around the king-pin bushings installed in the spindle, the king-pin remains fixed. There are no grease fittings on the bottom of the king-pin.
  13. I don't think he understands the question. I jacked up the axle and checked the thrust buttons on the bottom of the steering pins and they were .10 as described in the service books; didn't help at all. Pretty hard to hook up power steering since no place to mount pump on engine. I thought about machining the bottom of the axle pinions and installing a thrust bearing but that would take the weight off the buttons and place it on the axle. I just can't imagine a new truck would be that hard to steer. My '29 Ac has pneumatic tires and very low mileage. I know solids would be much easier to turn.
  14. My spaghetti arms are getting to the point where I can hardly turn the old beast around. Has anyone come up with a way to improve the steering on the AC Mack; power steering, lengthening the steering lever, shortening the steering gear lever? Does the weight of the front of the truck bear on the brass button on the end of the steering pin or the machined surface of the front axle?
  15. How can I tell if my turbo is working on the Mack B75, ENDT673?
  16. OK, thanks gentlemen. I'm about maxed out at 55 and 2000 rpms. Can't keep up with the big boys but I catch them in the mountains. Single od, quadraplex. Emd 673 turbo.

  18. Found r 6.34 on real bogie; does this mean the ratio is 6.34?
  19. Thank you j, this was helpful. I found the numbers are depicted in the tech sheet but it doesn't tell me much. The carrier says CRDP 92.161.66, what does this mean? ron
  20. Kind of hard to do with two rear axles. I'll chk for the stamp.
  21. How can I determine the rear axle ratio for my B75? ron
  22. 10/4, thank you, I'll check it out.
  23. Adding spring brakes to my old trailer. Have service brakes only now, what components do I need? Have relay valve on truck (B75 Mack) for truck spring brake: do I need another relay valve on trailer, or what? Simple diagram for a simple man, please.
