Jim,
Do you remember which side it was, the top one (with long band) came out of the right hand door. I agree, they could have changed vendors

Prior to installing new side window glass I removed the window regulators to insure they would operate smoothly. Glad I did, the grease and debris attached to the gears was like glue. However, both the regulators did their job and mated with the 7-bolt holes in the doors perfectly. However, they were made differently. Attached is a photo of them, one is a little more robust than the other. CAN ANY OF THE EXPERTS DETERMINE WHICH ONE IS CORRECT? Being a 1942 DE manufactured just prior to the halt of civilian production in Feb 42 the possibility exists that they were using up parts to finish these trucks prior to the dead line------ANY THOUGHTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED Thanks!

If anyone out there needs a Template for the side windows let me know. I just received my new windows from Street Rod Glass in Riverside CA. Reasonable price $75.00 each plus shipping cost. I didn't want trash the old ones until I had the new glass.

I am on the same page with you. Other more pressing projects! Here is a screen shot from Hemmings and it looks like the ED or DE in the background is also in need of hood strips
-
Jim, Thanks for the info about the small strips being unique to ED and DE trucks. I have a plan to fabricate some when I have somen spare time. I will keep you posted on progress.

Drove a couple of Young pumpers with 2-spds and a Heavy squad by Welch. Pumpers ran like greased lightning. Sqd wouldn't get out of it's own way. I was on that LODD call, it was a sad Saturday morning that took two young lives much too soon.

Enjoyed meeting Jim Hancock at the New England Chapter A.T.C.A. Antique Truck Show this past Sunday. The day was picture perfect allowing my wife and I to see many Mack’s we have never seen before. It was nice to meet up with Jim, another owner of a “DE” Model. He has taken the time to answer several questions since I joined BMT for which I am grateful. Thanks for taking the time to meet up! Great Show my Northern Friends. Attached is a pic a cousin to my "DE"
