Only 4.5 hours from me. Nice day trip. I have been to the Fredricksburg auto auction before. There's a weigh station just north on 95 that's pretty strick. Went by with our dually and the 38' two car trailer and the fuzz was watching as I skipped the station. Private truck not for hire but I was waiting for them to pull out and follow me. Next time I'll take 301 back.
Yea, Just by you saying that makes me not wanna go even more... lol

That's freakin cool. Id pass on looking for a B to get that thing. A little crusty but oozes with charm.
Paint the headlights red, tint the windows and chase people at night.
I agree, idk about the headlights tho. But this could be one mean looking truck if i get my hands on it. If it still has the original V8 then we are in business!!

Its going to cost at least 1500-1800 to get it back to NJ...

CAT scales gonna be the most accurate for a good tare/net weight on your outfit Tom,i use them all the time,or like already mentioned if theres a moving&storage company near you,or a cinder block plant, most always have a public scale.......................Mark
Theres a gravel company where i took 8 loads of gravel out of this week. I had to get weighed before i went in and when i came out. Would they let me use that scale to see how much i weigh with the international and the trailer? Would they charge me?

Tom I think I told you before hand to leave this one alone it didn't seem right. Bout all I will say on that matter I just hope you don't end up loosing what you got into it. Something never did smell right with that deal
if everything does work out i got one healluva deal on the trailer then... Only got 2500 into it. Once i get a title it will be a done deal. Just hope it goes smooth.

Somethings screwy there, whenever I've ran Vin #'s to get a bonded title, they've always gave me the last owners name as they MUST be contacted or an attempt must be made to contact them in order to first try and get a duplicate title. This nearly backfired on me once as the last titled owner had not been paid in full by the person I bought the truck from.
Also the other thing, The trailer has a Current DOT inspection, It was last inspected April of 2012... I don't know if that helps any, but it was a registered and working trailer back in April..

You have his business phone and nobody answers? I agree with Mike on the contact info. I would send a registered letter to him. Have you tried to contact the main state DMV where you bought the trailer for info? Paul
I do not have a business phone for him, I did not pick it up at the scrap yards location. It didn't look like a scrap yard there. Just a few trailers a building and a few dumpsters. I already have the letter made up. I contacted Michigan DMV before i went to get the trailer and they wouldnt even run the Vin for me. Michigan DMV really was no help at all.

I called Motor Vehicle. they ran the VIN didn't come up stolen... I asked many times and she said it is against our policy to give out another parties information. Since the trailer didn't come up stolen i can get a title on my own right now. Im don't playing the guys games. I already have my letter all made up and it will be going in the mail tomorrow. He had ample opportunities to contact me and let me know the status or just be upfront with me saying he couldn't get a title.

Id be interested if you where closer. Thats a long haul for me.

Cant wait to see it run! Nice looking truck.
Tom

If you ran the VIN, then it will turn up the last owner. Contact them and see if they have a title or can get you one.
Way ahead of you JT, when i had the VIN ran i asked the lady is she can give me the pervious owners information, She said she can not as she can NOT give out any personal information of another party... I ran the vin before i even left for Calumet. So that leaves me at a dead end there. Atleast we know it ISNT stolen.

Thanks for all the comments on our trucks, The B-61sx was a true labor of love for my father, that truck is a tripple rail and it had to be all dismantled to remove the rust that had formed between the rails, the cab was fully restored and all new interior pieces added as needed, we redid all the gauges and the motor was rebuilt its a 673C I believe. All the work was done in his shop with only the paint work being done outside. This truck we are just the 4th owners of her and she was sold by then Lawrence Mack, and restored with parts from Watt's Mack including new wiring harness thankyou. The Super Liner was the one Joseph was selling, he got it from Brillo ( Cappello Trucking) who took very good care of the truck, right now only major thing to do on it is paint the frame and repair some rust spots on the passenger door. I runs great so far with the 425 cat in it, just removed all the lettering off the doors this weekend and aside for the minor tinkering in great shape for 24 yr old truck.
good to hear! Good luck with the trucks!!

If he wanted his money I think he would have called you by now. Seems to me he got his hands on that trailer vials than legitimate means and made a fast buck by selling it to you . Don't be surprised if you find out that trailer still belongs to someone else. You may end up having to turn that trailer over to law enforcement and then your out the money you already spent. Frankly I wouldn't have left with that trailer without going to the notary first. I hope this is not scenario your in but it's certainly looking that way.
the trailer isn't stolen, i had the vin ran already
Tom
Surprised this hasn't hit BMT yet
