I am going to install a bearing kit in my back rear 44000 rear i was woundering how to set up the pre load and the back lash,,, can any one offer any advice on this matter..

HI Guys i have a 1985 rd 686 triaxle and ive got a vibration and rumble noise in the back rear,, the yolk was lose and the u joint was bad,, replaced the joint and tightned up the yolk but the noise is still there, was looking for a diagrahm of the rear so that i can replace the pinoin bearings also maybe someone can tell me where would be a good place to buy a rebuild kit for that rear...ratio is 502 Thanks Dragon

Hi Guys.. I have a 1985 rd 685 triaxle with a 300 engine i have a lot of blow by from the engine and no idea how many miles is on the motor,, i am going to rebuild the motor this spring and was looking for more power.. can i get a kit with bigger pistons and tubes that will give me more horse power..I have installed a 350 pump turbo and injectors on the engine but still not enough pulling power. dragonslayerpa1@yahoo.com Thanks

Yea it looks close to what i need at least that one is in one peice lol.. if it is for an 85 after 86 they changed units....

I have a 1985 RD 688s triaxle i am in need of a heater cover that has a/c controls i have contacted Mack and they told me that they can no longer get this item and it has been discontinued... so i must look for a used cover is there any one out there that may know of a place where i can get this cover...Thanks Dragonslayerpa1@yahoo.com

Yea thats what i thought and my turbo is 17 yrs old i thouoght it had to be bad...

Thanks for the help on my pump... last week i moved the rack forward and lowered the ram made little change to the power i also did not notice any change in the smoke, so this weekend i turned the screw out or counter clock wise and now i have lots of black smoke havent been on a hard pull yet but im sure it is going to be a lot better on the hills... i have also installed a boost gauge and it runs up to around 30 when i lug the motor down...i have also noticed that it seems to start easier and runs a little quiter and smoother.... could someone please explane how to increase the fuel presure on my 350 mack i have a ambach pump i can only get about 850 on the pyro when pulling the mountians...very little black smoke and the no puffer valve the truck is very lazy.. been looking but cant find anywhere to help me out... thanks dragonslayerpa1@yahoo.com
