  1. Hey All Thanks for the replies. It was a bad injector causing the problem.
  2. Got it Pro. Thanks. I'll try to do it this afternoon.
  3. Thanks Mackpro. My e mail is al@bensonconstruction.com It just sterted doing this. No one has been into the engine.
  4. Haven't had a chance to work on it yet. I will update soon.
  5. Hi all Have a 2019 with a MP7 that is getting a lot of fuel in the motor oil. The fuel is about 6 inches above the full mark on the dipstick. Oil was changed recently. Any suggestions as to the entry point? Thanks
  6. Thanks All I will look into the linkage first.
  7. The problem I'm having with it is when trying to dump a load the pto is popping out of gear. If the truck is empty the body will go all the way up with no problem. I'll have to take it apart and see what's going on with it.
  8. Hi All I have a 1986 DM685S with a Maxitorque extended range transmission. I'm trying to identify the pto that is on it. It mounts to the back of the trans. If anyone can help identify it or maybe has 1 for sale please let me know. Thanks, Al
  9. Hey All I am looking for a front spring hanger and cross member for a 2001 RD688S. The part number on the spring hanger is 53QK5120B. This is the hanger at the right side front, of the steer axle spring and the cross member that the engine and radiator mounts to. So far I've had no luck and Mack says its on backorder & no idea of when it will be available. This has been since the 15th of January. If anyone knows of a used part please let me know. Thanks!

  11. Hey All I am trying to find the location of the switch that would turn the engine fan on when the A/C is on. The A/C cools pretty good as long as the truck is moving but not while stopped. I thing the engine fan should come on with the A/C? The fan comes on and off while driving. It's a E7 427 engine in the truck. Thanks!
  12. Took it for a ride and it cleared up and is running as it should. Thanks all for the replies.
  13. I did replace all $700.00 worth of lines. I think I'm going to take it for a ride and see if it clears up. #
  14. Hi all I am having a problem with my 06 CHN613 with a 460 I had 2 broken exhaust manifold studs so I removed the manifold and replaced the studs. Put it all back together with new fuel lines and now I have a misfire. I crack open each fuel line at the EUP and all is firing except # 1 and I have a lot of air in the fuel at that line that does not bleed out. If I bleed it out with the engine off it will bleed and steady fuel will come out but with the engine running # 1 has a bunch of air. It was running fine before I took it apart for the manifold stud repair. Any ideas will be appreciated.
  15. Hi all i have a 2001 RD 688S with a fault code of 5-3. As far as I can figure out it is a code for the shutdown light but does anyone know what will trigger this code? Thanks.
  16. I have 4 2001 RD688S trucks with the E7 LSR Etech engine. I've had to replace the camshafts in all 4 of the trucks when they got around 200000 miles on the clock. I found the problem by pulling the unit injection pumps on the misfiring cylinders and pull the cam follower out of the hole. The roller on the bottom of the unit pump cam followers were torn up and the cam was no good. Pretty common problem with this engine. Mack used to sell a cam kit to replace the cam & all the followers for around $1800.00. When I did the last 1 the cam kit was discontinued and all the parts had to be bought separate. Cost of separate parts close to $3000.00.
  17. Hi All I have a 1995 CH613 that has been parked for about 6 months. I tried to get it started a few days ago but I get no fuel to the injectors. Checked for blown fuses and found the circuit breaker # 32 that feeds the shut down relay stays tripped. Put in a new breaker but it trip out as soon as the key is turned on. I Pulled the relay and it still trips, unplugged the connector at the injection pump, still trips. Unplug the fuel module and breaker quits tripping and power stays on to the shutdown relay. I'm thinking the module is shorting out. Anyone have any ideas of anything else I need to check? That module is over $2000.00 so I want to be sure of the problem before I buy the module. The number on the module is Bosch: 0 281 001 151 or Mack: 12MS45M4. Is there anyway to test this or someplace to send it to get tested & repaired? Thanks All... Al
  18. Thanks Turckster, The dealer was telling me 2-2 was for boost pressure sensor and I would need to bring the truck to them to be hooked up to the laptop to find the problem. I will try changing the temp sensor. I just finished doing the oil cooler and flushing the cooling system a few times to get the oil out of it so there is a good chance the oil in the cooling system may have caused a temp sensor failure.
  19. Hi All I have a 96 CH613, 427, 13 speed and I have a elect. malfunction light on and a code 2-2. The dealer said it is boost pressure sensor but they say this truck does not have that sensor. I looked all over the air intake system and I don't see anything but a air temp sensor. Anyone ever run into this problem or have any ideas on it? Thanks.

  21. Again I thank you Macpro. I have been replacing the studs with the same short ones that the local Mack dealer sends me. Now I have a new problem. The truck has a misfire. If I crack the injector line loose at each unit pump the miss is at #3 cylinder and there is a lot of air in the fuel that comes out of that pump. the rest of them seem to be firing and the fuel is clear with no air. Any idea as to why this unit pump has so much air? Thanks!
  22. Thanks Mackpro. This truck pulls a 50 ton lowboy trailer and it often runs at over 100,000 lbs gross weight so it works pretty hard. The air filter is changed at every 2nd oil change,( every 20,000 miles) so I know the filter is not the problem. I will try the fix according to the SB. Another problem I have with this truck is it breaks the top exhaust manifold studs on each side of the turbo. I've changed those 2 studs 3 times now. This last time was a real temper raising ordeal having to drill 1 of them out of the head. Is this something that is common with this engine? Again, thanks for your help.
  23. Hi All I have a 06 CHN613 with the 460 engine. I have oil in the intake pipe between the air filter and turbo. The only way I can see that this oil is getting there would have to be from the air compressor. A friend of mine was telling me there was a Mack service bulletin dealing with this problem. He thinks the bulletin is SB-261-012. I have searched online for this SB but can't find it anywhere. Anyone have any dealings with this problem or have access to this SB? Thanks!
  24. Thanks for the reply. I found the problem. Forgot the check valve is mounted to the firewall and not the air tank.
