  1. Ok, I'll look into this. I haven't gotten any quotes yet. Thanks guys.
  2. The frame is fine. It has an issue with the torque rod bolts coming loose but I suppose this is the cause.
  3. At the top where it meets the frame. Its on the passenger side, cracked on the front and back side.
  4. Well what the f%@k. I thought the DM's were the toughest trucks on the block. Apparently not... I have a cracked trunnion on mine. This is the second Mack I've owned with a cracked frame. I must be doing something wrong. Any ideas for a fix? I see this is an option. http://www.stengelbros.com/MackParts.htm Anyone know someone who can do this install for me around St. Louis? I'm fed up. The truck is for sale.
  5. I'll give that a try, thank you. One problem is when you remove the bolts, gear oil comes out of the holes and I'm sure loctite doesn't mix well with that. I need to drain the gear oil completely and hose the holes down with brake cleaner.
  6. I might go to town on them with a welder. They are driving me insane. I'll check that out!
  7. I have a 96 DM tandem dump and I'm having problems with the torque rod bracket that attaches to the rear end housing. Originally it had studs that came out of the rear end and the bracket went over them. Those studs fell out, I replaced them with new studs and those fell out again. The next time I used 3/4 grade 8 bolts, lock washers with loc tight and that lasted a few months before they came out. I have bolts in there again and I'm having to tighten them everyday . What the heck am I doing wrong here?
  8. Yeah its under the dash. I switched it out with one I knew that worked and I still have nothing. Bad ground or power wire possibly?
  9. Yeah, mine is the same way. Very annoying when you have your hazards on.
  10. There isn't a light for it, I'll have to look around for to see where its bolted to. I thought they were behind the dash.
  11. Nice truck! How do you like the MP8 with the Allison?
  12. Anyone have a diagram or instructions on how to replace a buzzer on a 1996 DM? DOT did not approve of its inoperable status.
  13. I spoke with Benny, he has one International for sale for sale but its spec'd a bit lower than I need. Very nice guy though!
  14. That's around the years that I'm looking for. If you would, pass along my phone number to him or you can pm his number. I don't have any photos of any trucks right now.
  15. Gentleman, I'm in need of a tandem dump truck this year. Anyone have anything around the St. Louis area? Here is my craigslist want ad: I'm looking for a tandem axle dump truck around the St. Louis area. I would like the truck to have 44,000 lbs axles or better, over 300 hp, and at least a 15' bed. Looking for a Mack DM, Ford L8000 or L9000, Kenworth T800, Western Star, Mack R model, etc. The truck can be powered by CAT, CUMMINS, DETRIOT, or MACK. *No tractor conversions please* Contact Scott at 6three6. 2six2..2three22 *I have a single axle GMC gas dump and a 24' box truck with CAT power for trade if interested.
  16. Yep, dimmer switch. The big dog is ready to roll. Thanks guys
  17. Thanks guys, i appreciate the info. I'll report back as soon as i can.
  18. Does anyone know which fuse is for the headlights on a 98 DM? My headlights will not come on but the high beams do. I replaced the dash switch, both headlights, and checked the wiring for any possible bad spots, but still no worky.
  19. Yeah the internettruckstop looks decent.
  20. I wanted to find some loads for my 24' box truck and was trying to figure out which load board to go with. It looks like most of the paid ones are running about the same price but i wasn't sure which boards are good or bad. Is there any good free load boards out there? I just joined the OOIDA and i seen they had their own board that was apart of the Transcore DAT network.
