Hey guys, I have a bunch of classic cars. 9 old Mercs. What better way to bring classic cars to a show then by way of a classic truck. I am looking into buying a Mack B-61 tandem. The car carrier will hold 7 cars and the loaded trailer will weigh about 42,500. A friend of mine thought that it would be real slow going with a 673. How much better would a 673 turbo run? I would like to run around 65-70mph---if the gearing allows. I don't really want to slow down to 10mph going up hills. What do you guys think about this situation? What other options do I have for sufficiant power? thanks, Mark

Hey guys, Anyone have a triplex or quad box rebuilt? I am wondering what the costs are of having one rebuilt. Also the parts cost of just replacing bearings and other consumables inside the trans. Also, are any special tools needed to work on these trans? Where are parts availible for these trans? Are the bearings of standard sized and availible through bearing suppliers? thanks, Mark Piechowski

Hey guys, My name is Mark and I live in North Adams, Massachusetts. Hopefully soon, I will be looking for a B model. A B-61-STX would be a nice find. But, not sure if I will find one. Anyway, I have always loved the looks of these B models---among other trucks, mostly older trucks. I am in the process of starting an automotive transmission shop, so at this time, I can't tie up money with buying a B-61. Hopefully soon though. When I show my friends a B-61 they say "what do you need that for?" Well, I have 9 old Mercs, a 78 F-150, a 78 Bronco and a 79 Bronco. Instead of taking just one car to a show, I can take a bunch on a car carrier behind the B-61. Cool looking cars and a cool looking truck. thanks, Mark
