  2. Bro I really think ya need to check for boost leaks!Any hot 500 I have worked on put out 30- 34 psi boost If your putting out 600 plus you can't do it with 27 psi, ya better have a look for boost leaks!pyros likly heating and the inter cooler can't keep up!Beleive me your barely 450 at 27 psi.

dude i agree it seems to be a boost problem......but dont rule out a head gasket.

  3. personally i think the poster has no idea what he wants either, go and by a peterbilt . if you cant tell how much diffrence is bettween a r700 and a mk 2 superdog then mate i refer you back too what i allready stated go and buy a peterbilt, this is not a negative response , even in australia there is no resale in old kenworths like you have its a 15,000 dollar truck ,i personally like your ride, now on the other hand a superliner sells between 40-70,000 dollars there is a bicentenial for sale at the moment asking price half a million dollars (and no this is not a missprint),you keep refering to A model i assume you mean a w900 A KENWORTH ,all in all its up too you but you seem to have some weird ideas mate..........my two cents...spud

  4. sounds like a lot of oil has got into your air system mate! pour some metho in your wet tank and into your maxitorqe filters it should work .we had the same problem on a v8 valueliner "crook aircompressor" other than the first option the only other alternative is too take of your relay valves and clean them out.

  5. why dont volvo just fess up to their dirty little secret....THEY DONT WANT MACK TRUCKS AROUND ANYMORE. they got what they wanted a increased share in the heavy truck market, its the same old story big corparate european money takes over everything. you know what we say SCREW VOLVO AND THE BOAT THEY CAME ON....... LONG LIVE MACK.

  6. well you just made the statment that mack engines are being the tesr "whores' .well mate this is the reason most aussie operators i know are switching to other truck brands as the new mack/volvo product is utter shit.try and come up with all the excuses you like their new breed engines are rubbish . no good for aussie conditions at all. there all good if you spend 90 percent of the time on the tarmac . all i can say is thanks VOLVO for ruining another legendary brand... R.I.P REAL MACK TRUCKS.

  7. They are used quite extensively in the Australian outback, and roads of New Zealand because of the extra "vortice" they create around the windscreen, (windshields to us "yanks"). Really are quite effective at keeping the glass clean.

    Rob

rob they are called a "stone guard" too us aussies and they protect the windscreen from unwanted rocks through the window . as you will no most cracks and chips that appear on the windscreen are on the bottom half so these are a way of preventing this.hope this helps. spud

  8. hi all i was just wondering if any one can help me track down a left hand and a right hand set of cab lift rams to suit my v8 ultraliner .so far i have had no luck tracking origionals down only after market ones which are totally wrong, mack in western australia are useless as tits on a bull at helping find parts unless its got a volvo badge,if any one can help it would be good ,price does not phase me .i am also trying too track down part numbers 275ax-f it is a cab suspension component any help from anywhere in the world would be great.

  9. thinkin of buying a 713,and want to do some home work, if i remember right didnt some of the v-8s have head issues, or is that the early versions. How are parts for the E9, and fuel milage.. what is the shift pattern like. had a mack with a tranny that was a 5 speed in low ,neutral ,reverse, and drive. is that what the 12 speeds are like. thats more torque than my 300L has, sounds like rollin a 100,000#s shouldnt be an issue, just have to make sure my idea will pay for its self..........thanks guys

sounds to me you allready have experiance with a 12 speed there dave, the gearbox you descibe sounds like the 12 speeders in my ultraliners and superliner i.e. one stick position 2 full gears i.e. first slot flick the button from low too direct and that is actually two gears , in reverse you shold have five and in deep set usually found on the dash in australia you will have gears allso. most of the so called head problems are related to inexperianced mechanics working on e9's. we have a few of the e9's screwed out to over 650 horses and have had no problems ,some have done head studs but that is a result of getting more horsepower out of them.if you leave the pump "i pressume you have a V pump and not a inline pump" alone and at its factory settings she should thump allong for many years to come.they have small power towers as well and will allways leak a little oil in the valley .amd another thing too watch for is the copper dynatard contact in the back of the bowl breaking but other than these small problems the are a relativly troble free engine ,we have one here that has clocked up over 2.5 million kays been rebuilt twice and is still on the origional block....the thing is is too ask as many questions as you can and make your mind up from there.i am so jelouse of you guys as the price you guys pay for these legends is a very small sum compared too australia where we can still pay anywhere beetween australian 55 two 100 thousand dollars for these units as they have become collectors items to a select few which has sent the price through the roof.any way hope this helps.
