nothin like a road tractor converted dump truck with the box stickin too far past the end of the frame..
Yup, where you back into a stockpile to dump and it picks the back wheels up off the ground. lol
-
Axel and hilbilt pretty much ruled Chicago end dumps.
I didn't know Hilbilt made it that far north. They're built about two hours away from me. Do y'all ever see any Palmer trailers up that way? They're built in Amory, MS and seem to be the most popular around here.

I saw it too... It's pretty sad. Did you notice the passenger side mirror was missing? Like the whole bracket and everything. I'm not sure how they backed it up without killing somebody.

Surounding the white house wont do shit, your lawmakers arent in the white house, the president doesnt make the laws and set the taxes congress and the senate do. You want to get em to change something you have to get them on a term limit so they cant just sit there for years making money and riding it out, and stop them from voting on their own raises, quite possibly the biggest improvement to our govornment would be term limits on senate/congress and using the popular vote to determine the presidency not electoral college, it doesnt matter how you vote if your representatives want to vote another way your vote is worhtless.
Took the words right out of my mouth.

Is this the same guy?
Looks like it

Does anybody know what's up with the air cleaner? My F model has a Farr air cleaner, but it looks like this truck has two stacked on top of one another.

I didn't realize it was a 13 but I guess you guys are right. I remember seeing a conversion kit in Largecar magazine or something like that...

Ok, not a Mack, but purty awesome nonetheless.

thats a straight 5 with a 4 speed auxillary. a 5 and 4 quadbox would never stand that torque. those are the shiniest ''All Steel'' wheels i have ever seen on the front axle also haha
Two seperate gear boxes, right? Would it hold up? I'm thinking the aux would go in place of the swing bearing.

My 8ll is going to need a rebuild soon... How would a 5 and a 4 hold up in a tri axle dump truck? I've heard they don't handle torque very well, but then again people ran them for years.

Hey Mr. Mike, I'm gonna pull the Vision in the shop tomorrow, do an oil change and check it out, then I guess we're heading north to Russell's place to pick up that hopper bottom. You gonna be around Saturday or Sunday? How are the roads up there?

Hahaha!!! I just imagined that happening. Cool!!! Wheelie!!!!
Yep, that truck was heavy on the back end, kinda like those u models get side heavy. Nothing a strategically placed fat girl can't solve though!

A couple of my uncles both had single axle gas burner c models with dump beds at one time or another. Apparently my uncle Johnny mounted a bed on one that hung off the back about 4 feet. Him and my cousin were climbing a hill loaded a little too fast and hit a speed bump, and it just sat up on the tailgate. They had to walk back to the dirt pit and get the backhoe to pull it back down. I'm sure the next stop was to run home to change into some clean underwear.

Got it that time. Look out, y'all are gonna get tired of me and my constant bombardment of truck links now!

My problem is getting them off my old samsung rugby onto my computer. The phone's about as bulletproof as your old 5 speed, but not the latest in Japanese technological advancement. Or I just don't know how to use it. Probably the latter.

That's what I'm talkin' about.http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=3891373

Yep, I've got a 74 western day cab f model that I'm trying to decide what to do with. The 237's no good, but the 5 speed is ok as far as I know. I just don't like the reyco suspension or the questionable frame splice. I'm about to swap a couple loads of gravel for a 79 allentown f model sleeper cab with a 300 with the top mount air to air (Is this what you guys call a tip turbine?) Both trucks are the same wheelbase, so I'm thinking about swapping the western day cab onto the allentown frame. When I become a little more computer literate, I'll post some pics. I know how much you guys like pics.

I got it posted. I just can't wrap my head around the whole copy/paste concept. I just manually typed it in the url box.

I feel like the asking price is a little high, but it sure is tempting. Just needs an extra shifter.http://truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4032249

To be honest with you, I don't guess I've ever even seen an aluminum Palmer. I'm gonna have to check into that though.
