  2. Thanks for the heads up on the TSB. At least now I know what the problem is. Thanks to all.
  3. Total cost was 400.00. I thought I'd pass on the knowledge to help save the cost for someone else. Thanks for your suggestions.
  4. Thanks for the responses. The problem was a harness issue. There was a short in the dome light wire. The following codes were present- 6- SID231 FMI8 15X EECU, 6-4 SID FMI 8 3X VECU, MID136 SID231 FMI8 ABS. Followed service bullitin SB221032 cleaned power and ground connections and measured voltage drop. Contacted Mack tech support and was instructed to follow ABS J1939 Data cable. Found a chaffed and shorted wire under dash along side of J1939 data link. Repaired wiring and ran a new J1939 data cable overlay harness linking the ABS,VECU AND EECU together. Wired in and secured. I put on about 3k since repair and the truck is functioning properly. Hope this will help someone in the future.
  5. 2002 CH613 350/385. Hoping someone has seen this problem before. Out of no where the truck will hiccup. No throttle response at all. When this happens the Electrical Malfunction Light and the ABS come on. Brought the truck to Mack, they pulled the codes and came up with a bad EUP. This was replaced and and off I went. On the way home it briefly hiccuped for a split second and then was fine for about 500 miles or so. It did it again and I cleaned the connections on the positive and neg blocks on the firewall and it was again good for about 1500 miles. Friday it did again no throttle response, Elec Mal Fun and ABS light on and also would not shut off (1 time). When this happens the idle stays aroud 600 sometimes rising to 800. After about ten minutes and starting and shutting the truck off 2-3 times it magically was fine. I made it the 212 miles home without a hitch. This is the third time this happened. Can't afford to be stranded. The truck is back at Mack today. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  6. I think the problem has to do with the ingition switch. It acts like the switch is being turned on and off. A buzzer goes off and the gauges reset. Happened about ten times today. Does not effect the drivability though. I just assumed it's a seat belt buzzer. Any one heard of this before? Only got one key on the ring so I don't think that's the problem.
  7. Heading down the road and all of a sudden all the gauges starting going crazy and the seat belt buzzer went off when i hit a good size bump. It did this for about five minutes over every big bump. The it stopped as quickly as it started. Got home checked all the connections at fuse panels and under the dash and hood. Every thing seems to be good. Are there any spots where the harness may be rubbing and grounding that someone has seen before that could cause this problem. Also when this was happening it didn't effect the headlights they stayed steady and brite. No issues with power either. Thanks for your help.

  9. A friend with an auto shop would give his used antifreeze to a buddy for free. It kept him from paying the recycler to come get it. Don't know how good it is for the enviornment though.
  10. Thanks for the quick response. New to the business I feel better for two reasons, first your info puts me more at ease and second, this site is like a whole group of friends that want to help each other survive. Unlike the world I'm leaving where they leave you for dead. Thanks again.
  11. Good Evening to all. Leaving corporate American for a seat in a Mack CH613 with a 42" sleeper. Wondering with 555k how reliable these units are. Engine is a E7-355/380 E-TECH. Got a 100k powertrain warranty with truck. Thanks in advance for any info.
