Yea. gonna strip the chrome off and redo it. IF it has to be blasted, I was told plastic media will let me keep gauges on pump panel and dashboard. Will remove them to rechrome if needed.

Hey, Brothers.
While I still have the 1980 CF (working on getting that shipped to PA), I was flipping through FB and a good friend of mine ( wont say his name, but it rhymes with FDNYTrucks.com...lol) going back and forth over a rig. I PM him and he tells me this rig is for sale. I join in, open my mouth, per se and say I would love to get it. Mike eggs me on and I make contact with the owner in California. Sight unseen, I bought it for $1500. Yea, yea, yea, I know.. lol
Anyway this is the first CF made with an open cab (one of 13 engines and 1 ladder) and the first CF with a diesel ordered by the Pomona, California Fire Dept.. In rough shape from the California sun, I arrange shipping from CA to Long island, NY. The transport driver shears the driveshaft but replaced it in Sacramento at his cost. My pal working on it goes under and looks, says all is ok. So I now own this unique rig.
Beggars cant be choosers, and I told him take his time since I was not getting charged for storage. A year later, im thinking of selling it with an impending divorce, and I get good news on that. With spirits a little higher, 3 days later I get pics with the rig being worked on. Brakes adjusted, new RADIAL (for those here who know me....lol) tires, fluids and filter changes, new batteries, and minor things. The roof will be coming off and while it looks like it needs a repaint, I WILL try compounding (see tire reference...lol). I hope to get storage upstate in the future, as I am looking to move up there. I still need parts, like a Hannay twin booster reel, caps and a Carpenter flasher light. Here are some pics, enjoy.

As usual , teabagger comes out when the argument is lost. While most politicians are hypocrites, liberals take the cake hands down. For example, that POS actress Sarandon and her puppet Robbins screaming how Bush was a war monger along with the rest of the Hollywood elite, yet SILENT on the horses ass in the wh chomping at the bit to bomb Syria. And it took a smart commie in Russia to make our dumb commie look even more stupid. So we can drone and kill Syrians because Assad is gassing an killing Syrians. As usual, its ok when a liberal does it. Ted Cruz is being questioned on his birth certificate, yet the HA in the wh spends millions HIDING his. Imagine if Bush hid his records. SILENCE on "phony scandals" like Benghazi, Fast and Furious, IRS, Boston bombing, et al. Yet all we heard about was Bushs' Administration firing 9 DOJ attorneys. Media has made billions off a country they despise. We had 60% of the debt Liberals complained about in 50% of time, and we get silence. We have open borders and we have 2 AH, HA and Holder suing AZ for infringing on the 'rights' of illegal aliens. How many people bought houses, trucks or any big expense without reading the fine print? Yet we have "Lets pass this bill so we can read what's in it" at a cost of $2 trillion. Give away, phones, services and everything else for votes and this country is sunk thanks to liberal hypocrite pieces of..... trash.

Because Liberals have to play the race card. No other reason.

As I am finding out. If you guys know of decent priced 10r20's, let me know. I need 6 for a 67 CF.

Touche', my friend. Touche'. Lol

Guard dogs, guns, locking things. Shame we have to even think like this. But we have to do what you have to do. Never owned a gun, fired one 3 times, but joined the NRA when those American hating liberals started sccrewing with the 2nd Amendment. Cant trust anyone these days. But 'life is much better than 50 years ago'. BS.

...tell them that to their face...
Don't hold your breath on that, my friend.

I have 11r 20's on my R model and had to go Chinese. I wanted a little more aggressive tread as this truck is my material hauler and goes into back yards.
How are they holding up? Not many people are as brave as you with the stories about the quality.

Radial or bias belted. I'll get a price from the wholesaler I buy from and be in Lititz in three weeks.
The better of the two. Or the cheapest..lol

Hello.
Wonder if anyone can help or advise ? (Have also placed this in the General Discussion)
Am over in England and my R719LS has the 1100R x 22" tyres fitted. (NOT 22.5")
Managed to buy x6 Firestone T575 highway tyres about 6 years ago, but could do with a final x4.
Firestones to match would be great, but other brands are fine (availablity seems limited these days).
Anyone any experience in procurring these 1100R x 22" ??
I can container them from Apopka, Florida.
Thank You !!
Phil, any luck with Google? I am in the same boat as you looking for hard to find 10R20 tires (tyres for you..lol). Hopefully you will have a better shot of luck searching than I am, but there are some awesome people hewre with knowledge and inside information,

Kool aid works wonders. Cant make it up. Nixon was impeached for less.

Sympathize for these guys. NY is odd because trucks CANNOT go on Parkways. At least once a week, we get it. 12+ feet of truck does not fit under a 8.5 foot bridge. I guess they are so obsessed with reading the GPS they miss the BIG signs that say no trucks and miss the sign with the slash through the truck.

What size are the tires?

Greetings,
Looking for 10R20 tube tires for my 1967 CF Mack. My mechanic is getting me them at his cost, and they are $400 each. And we all know of the Chinese tires and their unreliability. Anyone have a good supplier, or a decent knowledge of used tires. ? Thanks in advance.
P.S. If this is in wrong forum, please move with my apologies. Thank you.
-
Ok, total cost was $4100, but the rig is on its way East. Should be here on Long Island Friday or Saturday. Thanks for the advice, help and support.

You might check RAM trucking in brownsville OR, they have alot of trucks in so.california, They just shipped an american la france from here back to NY for a freind of mine. I have had them ship quite a few trucks , They are generally very reasonable, but most of all thay are a class act, = nice trucks, good american truckers, they have always treated my loads with respect. I usually deal with Jim Morin or Dale Latimer. I can get contact info if interested.
Would you mind? My low price just went up $700.

I'm out of PA. If your serious I can make some calls I've got people that run CAL. That could get it to Wi. I could get to NY from there. But need to know weight, zip code in CAL. And size I would need to know over all length and from the very front to the center of the rear axle that way we know what might fit with it. Thanks
thanks, Brother. I got a price of $3400 including tolls to NY. But may need a haul for my other Mack from NY to Hagerstown when ready.
The Pomona Mack is approx. 25,000 lbs, 9 ft high, 8 feet wide.

Hey Jim,
Nick Barbieri E330 Fdny Active,
Have four fdny cf macks (1979 CF E268), (1980 CF E308 Foam 262), (1988 E24), (1988 E33)
all run drive pump let me know if you need any help, parts.
got a bunch of stuff from the shops years ago lights, light bars ect.
good luck on the pumona rig what ex fdny mack do you have ???
Talked to you once before. I have old E-290. Need the light bar, Dietz lights, Akron NY'er, suction hose rack, spotlight for Boss, 3 piece red bumper, tarp if you know anyone locally to make them (but have a place outside Harrisburg). 290 is getting redone in future in Hagerstown, Md. My biggest issue is storing the Pomona Mack, I would prefer indoors. I am in Suffolk, recall old E-24 on the market. Where in the Hell do you store them all? lol Jimmy Schneider, E-271, Gr 19.
And thanks on the Pomona. Could not let that go.. lol

Take heed, Jimmy......Cheapest is not always best......Maybe you could get someone to drive it outside of California and Mack mhe9 might be able to load it up from there???? Just a thought.
And he is from where and goes to where? Fill me in, I am looking at all angles. And of course, bringing it back on a Mack makes my heart overflow with emotion.....lolol.
