  7. 46,000 rears 4:11 gears full lockers its a heavy hauler.
  8. they have a black 08 at f@c with 99,000 miles the rears are to heavy. im worried it may have been a lot of trouble, i will try to find out, ive got to do something different, this is not working!

  10. im tired of throwing good money after bad. im pretty sure i dont want 2008 or newer, can you guys tell me anything about 06/07. my repairs would make the payments on two new trucks, or i could buy two more trucks and maybe they could help keep this one running.
  11. i got my 2004 vision late sumer every week its some thing like that. i pay for fuel, drive for free, and it wont make enough to pay for its repairs, i didnt know about 2003,04,05. i feel sorry for you if its not paid for, it will put you out of buissnes quick. it is the most comfortable truck i have ever sat in,runs and pulls like its pissed off, but constant huge repair bills are running me in the ground. good luck.
  12. it will suck if it is another egr cooler. but on the other hannd thats a pretty easy fix compared to a head gasket or something thats hard to find cost a lot to chase unknowns. the lightning bolt flashes have got me worried,it wont stay on long enough to get code.

  15. Cruising east on I70 in Kansas last night about 11 pm. Just got on the turnpike, stopped to check my load and grab a cup of coffee. Stopped for about 10 minutes, temperature 2 below zero 40 mph wind gusts. Beautiful night! When i jumped back in the truck to leave, shut down alarm engine died. Checked code 17, raised hood no coolant in sight glass. Noticed coolant had been spraying out of air hole in coolant overflow tank. Noticed coolant on inside of hood on driver side steer axle suspension parts. Put in 1 and 3/4 gallons of coolant, wiped off best i could all signs of coolant. Drive 40 miles, got out and checked everything was dry. After another 30 miles lightning bolt flashed. Pulled over and checked. Coolant coming out of air hole in overflow bottle sight glass showed full. Stopped 40 miles later coolant still coming out of overflow bottle sight glass still showing full. Ran in 11th and 12th gear to keeps rmps above 1500 thinking egr valve would open less if i kept the rpms up and running free. After another 80 miles no coolant coming out sight glass showed full. Lightning bolt came on 2 more times when in hard pull in the next 180 miles. At home now, sight glass shows full, overflow full to hole in cap. I replaced the egr cooler, cleaned screen at 122,000 miles. It has 132,000 on it now. Anybody got any ideas? besides a 100 pounds of C4.
  16. the fuel milage is the only thing that gives me hope. lite load not to tall 63 mph a little over 8 mpg thats from junction city ks. to las vegas on hwy70. if i have to deadhead very far i will keep it at 58mph and its very close to 10. i know i have just ruined my creditability on here. it is very mph sensitive if i cut it loose 75/85 it drops to about 3mpg
  17. i put several 100,000 miles on a 97 ch 330/380 light truck grossing 125,000 gvw plus pulling a end dump waterpump and accelarator pedel, one rearend, owner to cheap to put all tires on drives put 11r22.5 on frount drive left lopros on rear must have been driver abuse. wish they built trucks like that
  18. all the bills are in just a little over $900.00 maybe i can drill a hole in it so she can wear it on a chain.
  19. jerryb has been running his o4 for a while, 100,000 since egr mod. i dont know if he bought it new, but it has over 500,000 on it now (not many 04 whith over 350 on them,except the ones setting for sale) im going to put the plate on mine as soon as i get in from this trip. with only 330 on mine ill be following his lead like a scared puppy. (we are stuck with these things, seems like every one but me knows about their problems) gotta look at the bright side once the word gets around to every body they wont be able to sell them and there will be a lot of nice low millage used parts for us. I dont know what i would do without this site. i get helpfull information,people who will listen to me bitch,and understand what im bitching about, a lot of laugh's along the way,and its open 24/7. thanks everyone!
  20. IF YOU REALY WANT AN 04 their are hundreds of 03,04,05 all with about 300,000 miles for half the price of the one your looking at.
  21. thanks for the reply. i went out about 6pm. this evening to do my pretrip, brake lite out wire coroded in two, brakes on trailer froze,all locks on tool boxes froze,to cold to keep mini torch lit, couldnt get 5th wheel to latch, broke air line on 5th wheel slide,finally ready to roll 1am. 4 degrees, i gota have a nap first. I LOVE TRUCKIN!

  23. looked at mine, to cold to do more than that, im gona give it a try. it would be nice if an engineer would log on a different computer to conceal his identity and tell us what else to do allong with that modification, im sure we can figure some way to get him/her a case of beer.
  24. when the fan hub goes bad? should i check for play? will it stop working? will it lock up? i know im being a pain in the butt. i learned erly in life its cheaper to ask questions, and learn from other people,than to be a hard head and tear stuff up.
  25. I did one thing Mack said don't do. I put a 1/4" thick flat steel plate in between my EGR valve and exhaust manifold so it can't transfer exhaust gases into the intake. I left all the sensors in place and the wires intact so it thinks it's still working. Not only did it lower the engine temp but it also gave me about 1/2 mile more per gallon on fuel. i copied this post from a different subject. hope he doesn't mind? tell me what you think
