  1. yarnall: Thanks. I'll take more info if you get any. fxfymn: I think the one on SPAAMFAA is an E model 505S. The only one I saw in St Paul was on Craigs List and that was a closed cab.
  2. Mack458 Yes, I saw that one. Unfortunately, it's a little too much of a restoration project for me. Plus it's the wrong color.
  3. I know it's probably a long shot, but does any one know of any LS fire engines for sale. I prefer the 85 LS or 95 LS semi open cabs 1949 or newer (wide front fenders).
  4. Firemack, Thanks for the information. Found the brake light switch. It needed replacing anyway. My parts store actually had it in stock. I could not find the terminal block under the hood so I ran wires direct from the turn signal switch to the front turn signals. The rear terminal block has a terminal for rear hose bed lights, rear battery charging receptacles, right and left tail lights, and right and left brake lights. Which of those terminals should I connect the new turn signal wires? It's very frustrating when the Mack dealerships don't even attempt to help you. I called my four closest Mack dealers; three of them said Mack never made an L model and the one that recognized the L said Mack never made a gasoline engine.
  5. I am attempting to install turn signals on my 85LS. The front signal lights were added new and I plan to use the existing rear tail light / stop light and add an extra wire for turn lights. Is this possible? Also, the wiring diagram for the turn signal switch says to run one wire to the stop light switch. Where is this located?
  6. Does anyone know if these removable soft canopy cabs are still around? Does anyone fabricate them? It sure would be nice to have if you get caught in the rain.

    Bell

albert Is this the flea market you are refering to? 16-17 April 2011 - Allentown, Pennsylvania Union Historical Fire Society Annual Spring Melt. Allentown Fairgrounds Agri-Plex Expo Center. 302 N. 17th St, Allentown, PA 18104. Auction preview Sat 16th at 7 a.m. Show Sun 17th at 9 a.m.
  8. Currently my 1950 85LS is running with only one 12 volt battery. I want to add a second battery in parallel to double capacity. But, I want to wire the 2 ignition switches, 2 starter buttons, and battery selector switch to make it original (minus the 6 volt batteries). Right now, the truck will start with either or both ignition switches on, with either or both starter buttons, and with the battery selector in either position. Any suggestions?
  9. It is a Hale pump but has an oval shaped handle for the transfer valve. It doesn't appear to have a drive pin but there is what looks like a tab between the threaded post and the handle where it slides on the post, only on one side though.
  10. I am in the process of removing my pump panel aceess panel on my 85LS to get inside the pump. I have everything removed but for the life of me I can't remove the knob for the transfer valve. It is oval shaped and looks like it is threaded on. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Bell

I am looking for a bell for my newly acquired 1950 85LS. The version that Brosamer's sells is designed to mount on a bumper or running board and not the traditional cowl mounted location where Mack installed them. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
  12. It looks to be a Hale pump. They used the slide style discharge valves where Waterous used the push/pull style.
