Vinny, Spring Melt is an event where fire fighting items are sold and traded by vendors and antique collectors. It's held every year in Allentown, Pa., and if you have a fire truck and want to outfit it with older or time period correct items, that's the place to go.

Do you have Dayton or Budd wheels? I have Budd on mine and am going to have them repainted all red as it came from the factory. If you can shoot them or have someone who can paint, you can pick up a quart of Dupont Centari and primer and paint them yourself. My Mack red is 4623 and I can send you a sample if you want for color matching, or I have the Dupont code. As far as the grey the Mack Museum may be able to provide a paint number or sample.

You can try Olsons Gasket is Washington state. I ordered a complete set of gaskets for my 707C and they of good quality. As it was a fire truck I needed two other small gaskets and they shipped them out @ no cost.

I have a 1965 B Model with a 707C Gasoline motor and wanted to confirm the proper muffler for the truck. It is a 1000 GPM fire pumper and the current muffler has a 3.5" inlet and a 3" outlet. The muffler body is round and is 38" long. The Mack Museum has provided some drawing but they do not match with what is currently there. Any help would be appreciated.

I am in the process of rebuilding the engine on my 1965 B Model pumper with a 707C gasoline engine. The reassebly will require a tool to cnter the align the timing gear cover, and I cannot locate the part.
Does anyone have the part that I could buy or borrow before I have one machined? If borrowed I will pay for shipping both ways.

This may or may not help, but there is a gentleman who volunteers at the Mack Museum who worked on the "fire line" of production. Can't remember his name but if you contact the museum they may be able to help.
Best of luck!

Gary, I purchased one about 18 months ago from sparkplugsource.com. It was a Gates 33347 for $32.18 plus shipping. I did have to make up my own gasket during replacement.

The B Model Store has a 180 degree thermostat that I believe should fit. The END673 and 707 share the same block, and Barry or Tracy in parts should be able to tell you. I have a NAPA at home - I think it's 170 degrees and will follow up with that information. The thermostat on BMS - http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?app=links&gotolink=7

Lancaster County Upholstry in Lancaster, Pa. (717) 569-3281 may be able to help with the headliner. Someone on this site may have the other part. If you have not joined SPAAMFAA I would suggest joining. You can join a local chapter and also list the part you need on thier site along with a request in thier quarterly newsletter.
