  1. Grandpa's looks to be an Mack EB. There was also an EC model. I think this is an EB model because it appears to be a fairly heavy unit.

EB built between 1936-41 with 134 units built. EC built the same years with 123 made.

    Boss Man's is a D model Mack. Probably a 20 or 30 built between 1955-1958.

    Thanks Jim for the info!

There were some C models that used that cab, also, and later they had a LJU and LMU that also used that cab

Thanks Mike! Did the cabs lift straight up or tilt?

    I like this one alot,Tim.

Mike PM Jeff and he may part with it ;)

  2. Well, we've got MOST everything of value that can't be cleaned/salvaged moved out. If the worst happens, we've got a plan. But, with my luck after doing all this work moving out, the levee will hold and it would have all been for nothing. I would be EXTREMELY happy if that happened. We'll find out in a few days.

All the best to you and your Family Rowdy. Weather patterns all over the are crazy this year.

  3. Great topic Gents!

My local NAPA that I do 90% of my business with hired new high school wiz and I got him the other day.

Went in and told him need a fuel filter for a 1996 F350 ford 7.3 diesel and gave him the part #

I had to repeat myself 3 times do to his brain being a sieve.

He then told me he doesn't have one and said that it is an odd ball filter.....

I said the power stroke diesel started production from 1994 till 2003...Do you realize how many odd ball filters are being used? Fing muppet!

  4. Lost this one 6 yrs ago: '95, it was so nice..........and still trying to replace it.

My brand new '96, 460/auto. I put a Vortech supercharger on it. Wow..that was fun to drive then.

I even raced it one Wednesday night.

    96trk42.jpg

It ran 15.8's with the blower. The Lightnings of the day would go mid/low 15's. There was one there that night and he came over wondering how the heck my big ol dually was running so fast. Only bad deal was the E4OD shifted for crap and you couldn't really get anything for them back then. You had to lift the throttle and let it shift and get back into the fuel. If not you'd just burn it up as it slipped away. Was all stock, just a turbo muffler and turndown so it had a nice little burble to the idle and a slight whine from the blower.

    Currently:

1989............gets the job done but just not the same as the '92-96 models.

Larry some sweet rides! Did you take stock out in exxon when you ran the loe 460? I see what you mean about your blue truck. That was very nice hope you find another like it! Great stories Larry thanks for sharing!

  5. You're right Tim, the 90s vintage were the definitive F-Series. And that one is cherry.

Thanks! I looked for quite a while to find one like this. Sent a photo of it to Max and he wants to drive it when he is back for Xmas from NZ. Here is his 97 before he left it NZpost-426-0-73773000-1449767411_thumb.jpg
