  1. Isn't that Loves open yet? I've seen 'em building one over that way....I think around 70 & 127....Greenville?

I avoid them big truck stops like the plague. Hell, most of the little places still let you refill your coffee mug for free when you fill up...and even if they DO charge, it's well under $1. Them big chains are well over $1....plus tax....and that's if you use your own friggin mug! The ONLY time I ever use one of them is if I'm out on the road, need fuel, but I ain't where I need to be & can't have a time stamp.

I didn't even know they were even building a Love's in Greenville.

We got a Road Ranger here former Piasa Pantry in Hartford about a couple miles from me. I go there all the time for Subway or some Virginia cashews. If I remember I think Pilot owns Road Ranger now. Believe it or not it's a pretty little hole in the wall with about parking spaces for about 20-30 trucks or so but it never gets that full.

  2. I dunno...you seem to think you got a deal at the J, so I figured I may as well try...

Haha I know I didn't get a deal. You know how much they want for a Wilson 5000.....$135! I wanted to get a 102" whip but I would have had to order it online and I didn't feel like doing that.

  3. 5' 4''? So, how many Chicago phone books do you have to pile in the seat to see over the dash? Do you put the blocks on the pedals or on your shoes like the kid in "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?". Just curious.

If I'm in a Freightliner I don't need any of that. Freightliner's are made for the vertically challenged folk so I can have no air in the seat and be comfortable. Now a Pete 379 or a KW w900L on the other had is a bit of an issue.

  4. That gangsta lean stuff ain't cool man, looks retarded in my opinion. Naw wait I tell ya what is retarded is them driver's who have the seat so high you can see their body and they are grabbing that steering wheel with both hands like their lives depend on it.

  5. But our kids will never be basketball players.

I never was or will be an athlete. Wasn't my dream anyway to become one of them. My dream is be one of them filthy pervert redneck truckin drivers who tell other drivers he ain't go no panties on. Now now before y'all call me crazy, I know I have a few screws loose. :thumb:

  6. Also with CSA 2010 driver's have to lose weight if they are considered overweight or obese according to the BMI chart. So yeah CSA 2010 is bring about some changes. I see it being good and bad.

Gambi I'm 5'4 and all this time you thought you was short. :pat:

  7. He has been driving for about 20 years now. I'll be learning in a Freightliner FLD120 with I believe a Super 10. I feel a Freightliner is the best thing to learn on. One thing I really love about the Freightliner's is your not straining your leg with the clutch as compared to an International where it sits up so dang high and then goes all the way to the floor. Doesn't work well with short folks like myself. Them Peterbilt clutches are not so bad my only gripe was my knees rubbing the steering column if I had air in the seat but if I didn't have air in the seat I could barely see over the dash, those KW clutches look like the same as an International clutch sit so high.

Yes sir Tom you are my idol. :thumb:

  8. Thank yer' for callin' Redneck Real Estate, what yer' lookin' fer' today? I have a corn field I can sell yer' for $99 an acre if yer' interested. It comes with a trailer and a coupler trucks on cinda blocks as a yard ornerment.:lol:

  9. Honestly I feel spending $3500 to learn to get a CDL in 4 weeks is a waste of time and money. The only companies who hire from them trucking schools is the large companies. These small companies don't give a rats behind if you didn't go to trucking school or not. They want someone who is experience and won't tear up their equipment. The only reason these big companies require you to go to school or go back if you haven't driven in awhile is to collect money off you and get the Govt subsidy. Besides that new driver's who don't know a lick about trucking fall for it every time and it's no surprise why they don't last 6 months, they are promised such and such but when they get into their own truck they see that they were lied to. It's just that plain and simple!
