thanks guys, fan was running but it had hard time cooling it off, there was white smoke, the driver told me but not constanly

Can somebody help me out to determine if i got a blown headgasket or is it a cylinder liner? I have a mack cl 713 dump truck 2001, mack 460 e7 with 21000 hrs and 380 ooo miles, anyways i had a driver on the truck and he called and he said that engine shotdown came one for about 10 sec and it was gone , i didnt think it was a big deal becuase gages on the truck sometimes go crayze, anyways ten minutes later he calls me again he tells me the truck idiles rough, so i told him to take it to a delership, on the way to dealership coolant temp begun going up he shout her off, i checked coolant and i added about gallon, i checked oil and it was above full there was no sludge on cap, i put my finger in the blowby and it felt like coolant. I waited for the truck truck to cool off and i took it to a dealership,(2 miles away) the truck didnt overheat but i had to stop like 3 times to let it cool off, st the dealership they said they cant look at it till mondey, so i am just wondering if someone can tell me if its head gasket or cylinder liner'?

collant level is good, i checked the oil cap its clean! should i just run it ?

can somebody help me out i got CL713, 2001 with e7 460hp, the truck runs beatifull, only one thing i am concered about is when she worms up i got withe smoke coming out of blow by, all the level are good coolant and oil. when i put palm over the tube, there is no presure. is this oke or should i be concered.

how is the fuel consuption?

hello everybody i am in the market of buying new dump truck, one of the possibulities is 2013 granit with mp8 425 hp with alliosn tranny, here in canda our gross allowance is arround 80000pounds can 6 speed handle that ? i am woundering about fuel consuption? does anybody here have experience with this motor and tranny? thank you

no the truck is not overheating, but the fan is on and off all the time i changed the water pump last year and its not leaking at the same time i changed the clucth fan, all the pullys and tenseners look good, non of them are making any noise, its gotta be interlnal plug somewhere, rad and air to air are 2 days on the truck so no way air flow can be restricted between them, but the thing that i dont understand is how come it never does it city driving? thanks alot man for your help

i add lilbit of coolant but nothing major and i couldnt find no leaks, other syntoms all the temp get higher on highway such as engine oil, trans,axle temp, turbo temp., alot of black smoke PS

i replaced Y hose at mack dealership not too long ago, and they didnt say anything about the screan but ill pull it down and check it out, is there anything else that i shuld check out thermostat maybe?

Hi guys i gotta 2004 granite with 460 hp,with viscous fan and she runs hot on the highway in about 10 min driving her steady at 1800 rpm the temp goes up to 200 than fan kicks in and cools her back down, and over and over.... city driving no problems she never get hot i put in a new rad and air to air and it didnt help, please guys help me out this is driving me insane, thanks everyone

does the temp get hotter when you run it on highway or when you going thru the city, mine is like that on the highway, i changed the theromstat, water pump, and that didnt help, i gotta granite also but mine is with 460, good luck if you find out whats wrong please let me know!

Hi guys i got 2004 mack granite with 460 with a vescus fan, when i am driving on the highway, my coolant goes up to 200 and stays there then it goes to 210 and the fan kicks in, oil gets up to 230, trans temp gets up to 200 and the axles as well, i traied flushing the rad, that didnt help.

Hello guys, I started hearing today, an unusal loud whistling sound coming from the turbo, it starts whistling around 1600 rpm , even when down shifting, did anybody have a similar experiance, Its a Granit 460 hp mack motor. thank you

i guess ill take it to mack, i didnt buy it brand new but the previous owner was doing the pretty much same thing, thanks alot guys.

thanks guys, no check engine light, no codes, the truck is 2004 and its good 500000 km which is arround 320000 miles, can it be reprogrammed? has anyone done it?

I have a mack granite 460 dump truck and with the load on on freeway i am having a hard time getting up to 60 mph and after maintaining the speed, my exhust temp goes up to 8 sometimes 9, and oil temp sometimes to 220, coolant runs arround 190, guys please help me out thank you
