Bwoolbr Glad I could help pass along the information. I live a mile away, so If I can help let me know. You local?
I'm from Spartanburg. Drove up there last night expecting to drive it home today. I didn't get to do that, but at least I got to stop by the Spencer Truck Show!
After about an hour myself and another mechanic were able to un-stick the Auxiliary. It was stuck in low split but shifts great now. Went for a test drive and the spring brakes locked up on my way back to the yard. I think I found the leak once I got back, but tires aren't road worthy. I've got till Monday to decide if I'm going to send a lowboy up there to pick her up. Not a bad rig.
This B-80 has a 220 cummins in it. The owner says it was special ordered that way from the factory. Was this an option? If so, what's the advantage of it over a B-83?

We just cut a deal and if everything is as good as it looks I'll pick her up next Saturday. Thanks Tim!

We're in the middle of restoring a 1950 freuhauf stainless trailer... Does anyone know where I can buy reproduction freuhauf marker lights? They are rectangular with round glass lenses. I have pictures but cant figure out how to load them.

I've heard there is quite a collection of equipment there if that is the outfit I believe it is. The twin screw is pretty nice. The other looks like it needs some help but certainly salvageable. Hope they go to a nice home at a good price.
Joseph's Equipment. He has some nice trucks, but has no desire to sell them. Most of them aren't even listed.

How much for the trailer?

Are you talkin' about me?
I have an exemption number "FMCSA 390.3 (f)(3)" on the side of my MH. Basically it states you are only using the truck for personal use and not for hire. You are not getting paid and that includes prize money, trophies, etc. It is not licensed as an Antique (1992 model) but as a commercial vehicle. Since it is not an antique (25 years old) I put the exemption number on the side to hopefully eliminate any questions. If your vehicle is licensed as an Antique you should not need an exemption. But as others have stated, check with your local DMV.
Yep. It was you. Parked with your trailer attached if I remember correctly. Nice truck.
From http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/:
General Applicability: The rules in 49 CFR Parts 390 – 399 are applicable to all employers, employees, and commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) which transport passengers in interstate commerce.
(f) Exceptions. Unless otherwise specifically provided, the rules in this subchapter do not apply to—
(3) The occasional transportation of personal property by individuals not for compensation nor in the furtherance of a commercial enterprise;
FAQ:
Question 21: Does the exemption in §390.3(f)(3) for the "occasional transportation of personal property by individuals not for compensation nor in the furtherance of a commercial enterprise" apply to persons who occasionally use CMVs to transport cars, boats, horses, etc., to races, tournaments, shows or similar events, even if prize money is offered at these events?
Guidance: The exemption would apply to this kind of transportation, provided: (1) The underlying activities are not undertaken for profit, i.e., (a) prize money is declared as ordinary income for tax purposes, and ( the cost of the underlying activities is not deducted as a business expense for tax purposes; and, where relevant; (2) corporate sponsorship is not involved. Drivers must confer with their State of licensure to determine the licensing provisions to which they are subject.

I live in South Carolina. Contrary to what I have always heard, the local DMV said anything over 26,001 GVW required a CDL regardless...

Contact Tulsa. Frank Beene was a big help with my model 19L. He sent all the O&M's. PM me your email and I can send them your way.
your winch is a 20,000 lb model

I believe the Radiator is due to engine choice. Standard B83 had a 220 cummins. This one was special ordered with a 335.

Does anyone know what the DOT exemption for Private Antique commercial trucks is? I saw it referenced on a truck at Macungie but can't remember what is was???
Thanks in advance.

Hi All,
Looking for a B-81SX or B-813SX with the 673, a B-83SX with the original 220 cummins, or a B87. Preferably with a winch on the back.
Hoping to make a rig to match my 57 Rogers lowboy and my 54 caterpillar dozer.
Thanks,
Boyce
