  1. Curious about opinions on fuel additives? Particularly with older mechanical engines like the E6
  2. Running an 85 MH with a 4 valve E6 350 and curious about what peoples opinions are on fuel additives in older engines to offset todays current diesel quality/keep their injectors in prime condition
  3. Great info thanks. I think I’ll try the shallow pan out it’s nearby and cheap off a parts E6 engine. I hear the shallow pan uses a different spinner centrifuge filter now I just gotta figure out that old part number. I see some for E7 do you think that would be compatible with E6 pan?
  4. Do you happen to have a part number for the spinner filter on E6? Just got a MH cabover and it has a deep 13inch 51qt oil pan that has a small crack so am thinking about swapping in the shallower 9 inch 34 qt pan that is off a nearby for parts E6 and apparently the shallower pan uses this spinner filter
  5. Asked you about liter capacity on small pan earlier, then decided to check the web and sure enough a thread from ‘14 says its about 32 liters max. More like 30 then add a bit for perfect
  6. How many quarts do you think the smaller one is? I’ve heard 37 and 32 thrown around for E7 size
  7. When the Mack guy put this number in system he was surprised that the 38 showed up and asked where I got this number haha. Told him about this helpful forum for us guys. Thanks again for info. Big help!
  8. Thanks for info! Those features/advantages on deeper pan sound like some nice benefits. Found a shallow used pan off scrap E6 engine I was considering throwing on but now after hearing that info kinda want to save up for the deeper 2grand+ pan. Might use shallow pan temporarily so can use 85 MH cabover I just got road ready after it sat in Illinois for seven years. Very small crack, barely leaks but still unsettling to have. Lot of stuff needed repairing after not moving outside that long.
  9. Hot damn! That’s some good info right there. Thanks a lot for confirming.
  10. Thanks for Info! I’ll follow lead. I found one off a parts truck but it’s the 9 inch depth type and mines the deeper 13 inch. Worried about the oil pickup not being right with the 9 and dont feel like modifying anything to be honest. Thanks again
  11. Tried dealer first of course Mack said part it’s obsolete in system
  12. Looking for replacement and none on the internet, believe me I tried. Any sites saying in stock are out of stock for the the aftermarket version PAI 240GB5212D. Could be old laying in a field for all I care. Am about to just try and have a pro drill both sides of small small crack and then fab/weld it up maybe fill in some additional steel for added strength
  13. I tried Tidewater Mack and they said they don’t carry anything that old. Thanks for info anyways. You think another dealer in VA might have it?
  14. Yeah! Just got ahold of full HVAC wiring diagrams 😀 can message them if you’d like
  15. So my obsolete controller seems to be the issue with HVAC system. Can a similar model Red Dot controller and wires be used with existing blower/resister system? Thanks
  16. Wow, awesome! Any section related to HVAC electrical wiring? I have this book but whole second half is missing Lol
  17. Wow that would be great. Think I’m going to pursue this and see what they have. Thanks!
  18. Thanks for chiming in! Any info is helpful at this point 😀 this could be it right here, I’ll message you and see if we can transfer this stuff
  19. Restoring an 85 MH and it’s mechanically almost ready for the road. Except HVAC control panel is busted and parts are “obsolete” says Mack factory + there is nothing exactly like it available on the internet either. attached a photo of panel. It has kind of unique screw mount placement also. Wondering if there is maybe another control I could use instead? Something maybe even universal? Hvac replacement isnt my most knowledge area so any advice, info and shared knowledge would be greatly appreciated to this 35 year old O/O. I’ve ordered an MH electrical system manual to help out also
