Heck we still got trailers with split rim tires. Those dudes were made way before date codes came around.
We never get dot inspected and we drive so slow that a tire on the rear blows out every 2 years or so and we just drive it to the tire shop and get an equally worn tire put on. Steers are the tires we don't cheep out on though. eBays a great place to get tires if you have all the tire tools and if your this guy.

The insurance, title and tag almost always costs more than the price of the truck for us (both pickups and semi's). Once they get to be the antique tag age is when things get even cheeper. The days of getting $1000 farm trucks is probably over now though with online taking over.

We should make them all test with a 6-71 and a 5&4 LOL
I don't think I could even do that! I was spoiled by learning to drive on a International with a 1693 Cat and a 13 speed fuller transmission. The torque of that engine is addictive.

All I can say it brand new manual transmissions are 3-7 thousand while automatics are 20+. You can change out a manual transmission and clutch without having to do anything with computers or reprograming anything.
Although old 70-80s ZF and Allison heavy duty automatic's are kinda fun to drive, not too kind on fuel though.

Old pattern T2090 and old pattern T2090 are (correct me if I'm wrong) mechanically internally the same. 4/8 LO was changed to 1/5HI because 4/8 LO was found to be loud or damaging to the back box. I've read that the updated pattern is better or smother to shift than the old pattern. If you can't find or don't want to make a sticker for the old pattern the new pattern might have to be the way to go.
Here is the old pattern and it's ratios. LO/HI is about the same as 4/LO

What area is that BobWhite?
SW Kansas. Also what implement is that on the back of your tractor? A rototiller or some kinda snow blower?
-
Hey just be lucky you got something even if its snow! It rained here for the first time since I'd say August or October of last year today. Wasn't much but it got the pavement and road's damp.

I knew that John Deere made a V8 similar in stature to the Mack V8 but I didn't know they put them in loaders and had the same pump. Very cool

T444 is what is was called in International products and 7.3 Powerstroke is what it was called in Ford products, Same engine as far as I know. International is known for crapy wiring so that's something that should be taken care of first before the HEUI fuel system. I'm not an expert HEUI systems but Adapt Ape on YouTube has some guides on troubleshooting them. Good luck

oops I didn't think I would watch that whole thing but 20 minutes later and I couldn't believe it was over. The pickup segment at the beginning was hilarious. ALL of our pickups look exactly like this.

I guess I've been around too many worn out diesel powered equipment to like smoke. When your spending all day around a Diesel engine you appreciate one that doesn't smoke.

I was thinking of getting some earrings like that for a girl but her family owned a dairy. If you gift them to the wrong woman you might end up getting tagged yourself...

I wonder when the Ford flathead V8 was put into it. Vlad's got a good point about the cooling system, what does that look like? The flathead V8 was probably In there longer than the original motor by my guess.

One think that I forgot to mention about another American company acquiring Mack is the revival of Mack off road trucks. Even if they were just a Mack paint scheme on a Caterpillar haul truck model I think it would be cool to see since they've been dead since the 70s. An all Mack haul truck seems like a dream.

It really wasn't all that bad. A cake walk compared to taking the NV4500 out of our 1996 chevy. The torsion bar suspension makes it a lot harder. Plus that Nv4500 is a heavy sucker compared to that 4 speed.

This trucks just too cool not to share. How I envy the people who got to drive them in their day. No parts left and from what I've heard people are too scared to even use them anymore. Link: https://www.equipmentfacts.com/listings/trucks/auctions/online/221646327/1984-marmon-cabover-semi-78
Kinda cool to me that it has a 5 speed Allison Automatic in it. New automatic trucks just don't seem as cool as the old Mechanical Allison's and ZF's of the 70s and 80s.
Also what's with the door in the back of the bunk? Never seen anything like it and it seems hard to climb up into.

I heard there was a few cat motors that made it into cat truck here in America. But they couldn't meet emissions so they were low production.
I think CT 13 and CT 15 is what they were called. They had a cat block, head, and internals but with crappy international wiring and bosh injection systems. Not much info on them out there.

I can see you hoods bent a tad bit. Or did they all come factory like that 🤔 😂
Both of parts C/K's either have the broken hood in the middle or have flatstrap in the middle as a brace.
