There is such thing as getting too hot too fast. I haven’t hooked up my swamp cooler because they’re coming to do the siding and windows contractor pretty quick and the swamp cooler is going. We’re buying a brand new one so a couple of days already I had to put fans in the living room because it was too hot in here already too fast as I mentioned, but that’s the way Reno seems to be most of the time there is no spring and no fall. Just goes from summer to winter and vice versa. Bob

I haven't seen a swamp cooler in a house around here in a long time. Is it for your house or a shop?

That reminds me of the old equipment that had swap coolers mounted on top of the cab. The water would drip down on you and it would get very gross once the chaff and straw got in it. Raising the humidity in the cab often just made things hotter and more miserable, open air stuff was often times more bearable.

I have a Honda Trail 70 I ride pastures with but it burned up an intake valve last week :(  Amazon has "new" head for $40 so I guess I'll try that next.

It got up to 93°F today and it's getting tough to sleep at night. I try and push till June or July before the AC comes on  but a month a go I was tired of the cold so I just try and think of that.

Looks like an old Terra-gator with a Mack hood. Cool piece for sure.

Thanks! That was the name I was trying to think of! Neighbor had an old Terra-Gator but I've never seen it run. They look like monster trucks!

  4. I'm actually in the market for something like that lol

That cab looks so familiar but I just can't place it. I have a hunch that it's from either an Allis Chalmers, AGCO, or White product but not sure. Macks aren't typically the trucks farmers convert Into stuff like this but It sure is interesting when they do.

  5. I didn't see much wrong either but I do think he was pretty lucky getting bolts out. I see more people using impact guns on stuff like head bolts and I just don't really see why. I'd get it if you were in a shop and had a time crunch but on something this old? A breaker bar just had more feel and it will give you an idea of how tight to torque it back too.

Starting fluid on a gas engine is another thing I don't understand. I found that a squirt bottle with some 2 stroke gas is the best for getting a stubborn engine to go.

  6. Any E7 should work but having the electronics from the old truck like the ECM and TCM will make the swap so much easier. Not much mechanically differed from different E7 horsepowers aside from a different tune on electronic components. As long as its an AI E7 it should work.

Not sure if this motor would have a large flex plate like an automotive automatic but everything should bolt up if you saved all the parts.

CORVETTE SUMMER staring MARK HAMIL (LUKE SKYWALKER ) has a MACK LTLSW  flat deck with flat deck pup  on the 4 lane road as MARK is passing it with the CORVETTE

Watched Corvette Summer the other day, very funny but the 70s style is another thing before my time. That C3 Corvette just looked ugly to me but my sense of style is definitely with the 80s C4 corvettes so I've got a bit of bias.

  8. Moonfire was brought up in another form when I asked about twin stick cabovers:

The plots pretty strange but the trucks sure are cool! That F model would sure be a cool truck to have with the twin stick and it looks and sounds like it has a V8!

Lots of 60s and 70s truck regulations and other stuff that I just don't understand, but that's quite a bit before my time.

  9. Unless it was an Olivetti or some other cool brand the electric typewriters aren't usually worth much. The little electric motors inside are nice for projects though.

I've been mowing for the last couple of weeks but the weeds have already gotten ahead of me.

  10. What a cool truck! It's cool to recognize all the parts but arranged in different places.

Does this truck have the E6, E7 or maybe even the E9? I've heard in some countries they continued E6 production well after they stopped making them here. Did they offer the E9 in New Zealand? Sorry to bombard you with questions but I have never even heard of these before!

Heres a better one on another truck:

I looked at some decoding forums but I can't figure anything out ^

The cabs are all that's left from most of these, so the glass and maybe the trim would probably be the only things still salvageable in my mind. Edit: The newest registration stickers I could find was 1994 or 1996 so parting these trucks out probably made more sense at that time

  12. Most if not all of them had been gutted. Sad to see the custom stickers and paint jobs some of these trucks had, the owners were really proud of their trucks then.

Found this sticker in the door on one of the Mh's:

Anyone remember what this could have been or what this recall involved?

  13. Not to go too far off topic but I found a cabover graveyard that's too cool not to share:

This poor Pete would have been one cool V12 truck in its day! If only they could tell stories.

Can't seem to track down the owner but I think the land was sold recently so they could all go to scrap.

  14. I have a 13 Mini and before that I had a 5 that I used for 8 years. I might downgrade to a flip once this 13 is wore out because it doesn't look like they'll be making anymore small phones.

I'm the young skinny guy and I have to do all the crawling around under stuff so a small phone is a must.

  15. Sorry to revive old threads but this is kinda cool!

I was reading through some old Mack news articles on an archive and found what was previously stated:

So a couple of these Mack/Renault amalgamations did make it over to North America but where did they go? I wouldn't blame them if they dumped them in the ocean somewhere, but there is a cool factor in finding the only example on the whole continent.
