  1. Problem fixed, ended up being a brake booster. Thanks for all your help!
  2. It’s a big leak, if I don’t step on the foot pedal it’ll leak all air out of the system
  3. Nope, it’s been all fine until today
  4. I replaced the dash valve 6 months ago, surely it’s not buggered. I can’t work out why when I push in the foot pedal the valve stops leaking?
  5. I’ve replaced the valve and it’s still doing it mate. I can’t work it out
  6. gday guys will here 1998 mack trident, i have full air and push my yellow button in and it leakes out of the exhaust part of the rear valve that services the rear boosters. i push the brake peddle in and the leak goes away and air builds up to normal again. i have pulled the service linesof each booster and no air is coming out when maxis are released so boosters are good. any idea where i should start looking now? thankyou will

  8. Front engine mount is new mate, replaced 6 weeks ago. Ok will have a look at them
  9. Yep Australian spec, no stored codes at all. How to you fix the front cover flex? It could be that! Where abouts are the green pins?
  10. Coolant is the correct level. CHR Mack trident. I can’t work it out
  11. Yep the code went away, why would it be de rating itself? When it gets to 29psi the lightning bolt flickers on and off while de rating then go back to flat ground and everything goes back to normal? No boost sensor or ease gate on this engine. Nothing has been done to the engine recently or in fact for the last 12 months other then regular services.
  12. Have a Mack 470 etech engine 1998 model. Boost pressure gets to 200kpa on gauge then starts to de rate itself, does this every time it gets to the 200kpa boost pressure. Throwing a 3-4 code which is engine position sensor, replaced both and still doing it. Just wondering if anyone out there would have any ideas what would be the cause. Thankyou will
  13. No only 1 uni joint on firewall and one uni joint on the steering box
  14. Put new cab mounts on, still does it. About an inch clearance
  15. 2 mounts on the gearbox are good, bolts are tight. Mount on the front of engine near flywheel are tight but still hitting turbo
  16. Mack Trident 1998 model 470 etech, turbo touching steering column when accelerating hard under load. Engine and gearbox mounts look ok. anyone with any ideas would be great. Cheers
  17. Have a Mack vision with a v-Mac 3 in it. It’s very sluggish starting, engine turns over very slow then will eventually start. any idea why it would be doing this? Any help would be great. Thanks.
  18. Ok thanks, that would be great. The sensor on flywheel has no shims but the one on the camshaft has one and it is throwing an intermittent code under power
  19. Hi just wondering how many shims go on the engine position sensor near the crankshaft on the front of the engine? end do any shims go on the other one on the bell housing? engine is a ea7 470 etech! any help would be great cheers
  20. gday probably a pretty easy question but have been getting heaps of different answers. How much engine oil does a Mack 470 etech vmac3 hold? thanks
  21. Never had that code, always 3-4
  22. Ok I’ll have a look at the fuel and the sensor, only does it when accelerating, take foot off pedal the code goes away? Any ideas why?
  23. Filters are new, just did them. I’ll check pressure. What is the best way of doing g that on these old girls?
  24. Could be, haven’t looked there. Basically if you hold the pedal flat it’s doing it, not getting enough fuel or something around those lines. 3-4 code is coming up but have replaced both engine position sensors and still doing it.
  25. 1998 Mack trident with a 470 etech vmac3 engine in it. Not getting full power when accelerating, when giving more accelerator it feels like it’s trying to produce power but then dies. anyone have any idea why? cheers
