  1. Thanks. After calling all around the country, it looks like they are going to be my best option 🤞
  2. I'm looking for a used or rebuilt TRTXL1070B transmission. I looked on the internet and have 10 places to call in the morning. Any places I should stay away from or does anyone know of a reputable place, or have one for sale? Thanks
  3. I came on the site from my laptop hoping that i wasnt seeing something on my phone. I still cant figure out where to delete attachments or donate.
  4. Ok. You make a donation to the website? Where do you go to do that?
  5. I've added some pictures here in the past. When I try to add one now it says I have reached my attachment space. Does anyone know how to clear the old attachments? Thanks
  6. I just serviced the truck last weekend and forgot about that one. I wasn't aware there was a filter there until someone on this page told me about it. I changed it out last service and it looked like it had been on there since 1989. I have one ordered. I'll have time tomorrow to climb around looking for the problem. I'll definitely check that wire, Thanks!
  7. Nothing electrical under the seat or under the cab in that spot. Someone said it was a module behind the alternator. My mechanic said he didn't think that was it. He hasn't worked on a lot of Mack's. Another guy told me the cables from the batteries will go to it first? I'll have to follow them tomorrow,I'm hauling today. I had a couple hours yesterday and was hoping it was something I could steal off my parts truck. Thanks
  8. Can anyone tell me where the parallel switch is located on this truck?
  9. I have an 1987 E9 400. The batteries on the passenger side are not changing. The ones on the driver's side are.My mechanic told me the alternator is working and the batteries are good but would have to dig into to figure out why. He said he didn't think it was a bad wire . He suggested getting a 12 volt starter and wiring it for that. Any ideas on what I can check?
  10. I'm looking at buying a truck. What information can I find out about it from this tag?
  11. Trying to fix things myself. My truck temp is all over. It doesn't get above 150 if its cool out and will go above 210 when the weather gets hot. The truck is at a shop getting something else repaired now. I was told to get it warmed up and shoot the radiator with a temp gun to check to make sure it isn't clogged. Would it do that if the thermostat needed replaced? Looks like there is two on this motor, how hard of a job is that to do? Thanks
  12. It was definitely due for a change
  13. I talked to the guy who does my annual DOT inspection and he said if it was hidden well I wouldn't have an issue getting it inspected.
  14. I'm having trouble finding someone willing to repair it. I've talked to a couple welders who didn't want to mess with it. From what I've been told I need to get it welded and then fish plated too. The DOT regs say as long as repairs are bolted/ not welded according to manufacturers specs, it's ok. In 27 years of driving other people's trucks I don't believe I ever ran one with that kind of frame repair. At least not that I noticed
  15. I have a 1987 RW613 with an aluminum frame. I noticed a hairline crack about 2 inches long coming from one of the bolt holes for the cross members on the main frame. Can this be repaired by a qualified welder or do I need to have it fish plated? Thanks
  16. I got it on there...along with my new bumper! I fired it up, blew a dead bird out and then some black Smoke. It didn't vibrate at all. The original one on the passenger side does a little.
  17. I have a Superliner with a single stack. I bought another Superliner as a parts truck that has dual exhaust. I want to add the second stack to the truck I run everyday . The parts truck didn't have the cross members that form an X between the two muffler mounts. I've seen them on some other Mack's with dual exhaust. Does anyone have dual stacks without the cross members? Am I going to need to get some?
  18. Thanks I'll check them. The numbers were worn off most of the filters so I went through mack to make sure I got the right ones. They never mentioned this air compressor filter.
  19. I found it on there. I don't imagine it's been changed for quite a while. I'll see if I can get one from mack. Mine is pretty grimy on the outside and I'll have to clean it up . Judging from the picture in the manual I'm guessing you pry that band a little to get that cover off?
  20. Thank you. I was unaware of this filter. The information I've gotten from this page has been invaluable. Thanks again everyone!
  21. Yes. That's probably what it is. I've seen it on other Mack's that weren't V8's. Any idea where the compressor filter is?
  22. Thanks. There's a filter under the frame behind the cab about the size of a car oil filter. Is that the one they are referring to?
  23. I have a 1987 Superliner with a E9 400. Its a dump truck. Somedays I idle a lot and I'm always in the dust. I have asked around and have heard between 4000 to 12000 miles in between filter and oil changes. I'm going to put an hour meter on the truck and service off of that. How many hours should I go between service? Thanks
