  1. Hello trying to get some opinions on what’s going on here . Have a 2014 mack mp8 . I just noticed today that their is a leak by the transmission rear of engine . It’s on the passenger side right behind we’re the oil pan finishes. I seen the drip we’re the trans meets the engine so I followed up and it seems like their is a hole or breather on engine side and that’s we’re it’s coming from . What could that be any thoughts .
  2. Yeah I found that on google also . Thanks just trying to find somebody that work a on this trucks to give me a idea we’re to start looking .
  3. Pulled this code today p2698 . Truck has been running fine but have been noticing my exhaust temp going up even when truck is not loaded . I did buy a temp gun and checked the temp we’re the turbo outlet flex hose goes in to the dpf system it did not read the same as the exhaust temp gauge I don’t know if that’s were the exhaust temp sensor goes . I noticed the exhaust temp going up for a couple of days and then that code pops up . Can anybody tell me what that code means . Also can I drive it while I schedule dealer.
  4. This bearings come unitized they don’t require oil . It’s a Mack unitized hub . I don’t know why they did it like that but that’s what this is .
  5. Yes a lot of my time and yes thank god cheaper.
  6. Well you dint answer my question or any help terry. But you did answer your own ? I’m trying to figure issue to fix . Thanks
  7. My tire is wearing evenly I did change my tires because they were wearing bad on 3/25 of this year . And never really found the issue. I changed my kingpins in may of this year because I really thought that was going to fix this knock and wobble at like 30mph I have now .
  8. Usually it only does it when loaded or mid day thru work day . I work local hauling belly dump I’m thinking it’s because it gets hotter when loaded and the more use . Have any of guys gone thru one of these or changed one . What problems were you having . Just want to make sure it is this . I’m thinking it is because of the what the guy telling me feeling jumó on tire and also wheel Hotter then the other side
  9. Ok seems that I found the issue it’s the front wheel bearing had a guy touch tire while slowly going forward and he told me it jumps . Also stopped while loaded trip and touched that side wheel and was extremely hotter than other side. Come to find out it’s a unitized hub and bearing not sold separately. Well it is sold separately but only 100 dollars less then the whole hub . Hub at dealer $765.00. Is their any Mack techs here I found the bearing and seal on eBay for 185.00 can it be done that way just changing bearings or does the whole hub just have to be changed ?
  10. Are you meaning we’re the leaf springs tie up to the front axle they a centering pin in the middle or what. I was thinking it was maybe my front spring bushings .
  11. When you say watch the axles are you meaning the back axles as well. Fairly new to the trucking world .
  12. I have a clunking noise what seems it is coming from driver side . It usually only does it when loaded . It does not happen when turning and I don’t feel it on steering wheel . It’s usually just at take off and also when stopping and coasting like at 2, 3 mph. I did notice today more when going into reverse when loaded and going like at 3 , 4 mph . It seems like every time the wheel rolls you hear it at the same spot. Like rolls once then you hear the clunk. Has anybody experienced something similar don’t know where to start looking . Also this is on a 2014 Mack cxu613
  13. Got everything back on and ran all week got plenty of boost and no more oil leaking . I guess it was the air filter .
  14. The turbo is good doesn’t have any play . I did take it off. Their didn’t seem to be any oil in exhaust manifold or something that would indicate oil coming that way . Question do you think a clogged air filter would cause oil to come out thru back of turbo . The return line I did take it off from the bottom of turbo and seemed fine, couldn’t get to it on block side of motor I would of have to take off egr. The crank case ventilation took it off and seemed fine . Got everything back on today I’m going to run it and see.
  15. Trying it tomorrow morning and running it .
  16. I just got this truck i had it in west Texas . And apparently air filter It never got changed or cleaned . just checked the air filter and it’s clogged with dust and dirt . Do you think that could of messed up the turbo charger . Do you think once the oil leaks out seal is bad or just putting the filter will make it work .
  17. Theirs no kinks on it it’s a metal tube . Do you think I would have to disconnect it to make sure theirs nothing blocking it inside? Just saying the only way to get it out is getting egr out .
  18. Where is that line located or to what does it tie up too. . And yes oil did get all in the after treatment system will see how it goes . If it gets pretty nasty with the after treatment system . Probably going to delete. Don’t want to because I haven’t had issues with it but will see.
  19. No the coolant was fine dint drop , but I did have to add oil which is what I have leaked out all behind turbo . A couple of people told me your turbo is done . But after talking to a turbo shop here in Houston on the phone . He said it can be a couple of things . I dint have a check engine light when this happened also dint lose power . If it was coolant leaking why would the oil come out? First truck just trying to learn . To pressure test I would have to put everything back together and refill with coolant .
  20. I have a 2014 Mack cxu613 with the mp8 yesterday I noticed white smoke coming out the exhaust stack. After a little while of running oil was all dripped out in my exhaust behind my turbo . So I stopped checked oil and yes was about a gallon short . I took off turbo today but it seems like it doesn’t have play inside of the fins can it still be messed up I also looked inside the exhaust manifold for leaks and dint see any just looks a little black but no dripping oil or soot build up . like the exhaust pipes behind the turbo . Trying to see if it is the turbo don’t want to change it unless it’s done .
