  1. I work at a Volvo/Mack dealer. Shoot me a PM with your VINs and I can get you some specs.
  2. I'm sure you can clean it out if you remove the plastic housing from the aluminum base. There isn't a filter inside, there's a propeller inside that spins the oil back into the tube to recirculate it. Other than replacing all of the seals, one of the biggest issues with these things is the aluminum base. I've seen plenty of them with cracks or even the plastic housing with cracks. Best to take it off and clean it up and see if you have any cracks in yours. These things are one of our biggest selling parts at our dealer and in my opinion, a terrible design from Volvo. Doesn't help they charge so much for them. I've seen certain ones for over $1000. As far as I know, there are about 3 or 4 different ones depending on D11/MP7 or D13/MP8 engines.
  3. Hey everyone, name is Matt. Just found this forum today and looks like I'll probably be spending quite a bit of time on it. I don't own a Mack but I've worked for a Mack dealer for almost 14 years. Started as a delivery driver and for the past few years have been selling parts. I'm the youngest of the bunch and the least tenured, that being said, we have a few guys here that have worked with Mack for over 30 years each. I love being around these trucks every day but really love the older ones that we don't get to see much of. Ever since Volvo took over and started building Macks in 2008, I've seen the customer base drop significantly. It's sad that they're not what they used to be but at least we have a plethora of classic Macks still on the road. Good day!
  4. That's a mighty fine looking truck. I just checked the VIN and it's actually a R690T. Not sure where they got a DS chassis model from since I don't think Mack ever used that for any of their models.
