  1. i once worked on a 98 freightliner with a 3406e cat and the same thing low boost bout 10 so i pressure tested the system found the aftercooler had a thousand leaks replaced it no difference checked all the flex hoses found one of the aluminum pipes to be mangled on the hose ends not sealing replaced them no difference so i disconnected the batteries it worked had boost pressure had to reset the computer i shut it off re started it NO BOOST what the hell so i left it the the wiring on the motor caught fire for some reason i was at my wits ends with this truck ordered the wiring harness from cat put it on and bingo no problems had all the boost it could handel 35psi if i remmember that truck is still running but my point is with the new crap all the electrical stuff theres a lot to go wrong it could be an easy fix but it could be an expensive fix hope you get it fixed try taken the batterys off and letn it sit then try it again but it sounds like there is a leak more then the computer is in limp mode check all the fittings and the turbo shaft play
  2. here are some macks for you the first one is an offset cab water truck and the other one is an end dump these trucks are run 7 days a week off road no dot so they get the crap kicked out of them we also pull double belly dumps out here thats two full size 40ft trailers behind one truck and one of them is a rl700 thats been semi restored and it has no problems pullin the 160 thousand pounds we put on these trucks the others are old w900 kenworths one pete one freightliner and the mack all the others break down blow rear ends not the mack it keeps going love these trucks ill get some photos of the mack pullin doubles
  3. so i went out to the truck last weekend took batterys, oil, and water tried to sort out the battery cables got tired of it and just hooked up the batterys 24 volt took of the gen wire so it wont burn out got her to crank but no fuel getting pumped up gave her a sniff of go juice and it fired but still no fuel so i called it quits for the day will go back out next weekend and will take my transfer pump and see if i can get some fuel in the injection pump and check the rack see if it is free so for now tell me what you think p.s. its a b63sx from what i know that s is for tandem and x is for servere or extreme service chassis dont know what year though or what motor it has has no rust needs both side windows and some wiring it has a duplex with a brownie with a pto probably slow going but its cool as hell looks good has power steering to has a big ram hanging off the front axle and attached to the drag link well if just ramblen on so see you later

  5. just came across a b63 mack and got a great deal on it ( traded my hobart welder for it) it has the 20 speed mack trans plus a 4 speed aux dont no what motor it has maybe one of you could tell me it is a bit far away from my house out in the middle of no were so my ? is were do i start in getting this thing running i have to drive it home its pretty clean truck the diesel dont look geld in the tank didnt check the oil or water though i will take oil and water when i go to start it but what else i suppose pb blaster atf and diesel will help any help will be great the plus is all the tires have air in them still after 10 years of sitting
