  1. Great Bare chassis for someone one looking to build heavy spec DM800. 26’ of triple frame. Very low miles were on the truck. Bought for a project but have moved onto other one. $3500
  2. Took a few minutes this evening to wash some of the engine components before I paint them and reinstall onto the engine. Goal is not to get greasy on the assembly.
  3. Original engine was a Mack ENDT 675. I was able to purchase a Mack MR fire engine that had a EM6-237. Have to swap a lot of things over because of the different style trucks but over all the new engine ran much better when we drove the truck home.
  4. We we set it the engine yesterday morning and then spent the day doing fun stuff.
  5. 2 part answer to your question. The truck was in NY at my fathers and I have been bringing it down piece by piece as I assemble it. I have decided to put a newer engine in it with a Jake Brake.
  6. My brother was nice enough to bring the engine down from NY yesterday. Should have in later today.
  7. This Mack is not going to be a slammed rat rod. I have it on rims so I will be able to get It out of the garage. When finished I will put the 11R-22.5 tires back on. The disadvantage of only having an 8’ door is I’m limited to project size and have to get creative. To skydawgs question-I’m by myself. No other help on this project.
  8. Here is another update. Was able to get the rear and the front end back under the chassis. Took advantage of the nice weather and painted the cab. Now to finish hooking up air lines.
  9. Steering box off of 74 Mack Rmodel. Comes with the air assist setup as well. Will also throw in the steering arm. $250. Prefer pickup.
  10. Went to Florida for the weekend so didn’t work on the project until after work today. Was happy my crossmembers were finished when I got home so I was able to install them and remount the spring hangers and springs. Finished the day with some paint on the back of the frame. Next step will to pull the rear back under and remount and then if weather is decent over the weekend put some paint on the cab.
  11. Was able to get the cab in position. Still much to do but on track to finish by May. Waiting on cross members and fuel tanks to come back from sand blasting shop. Plenty of small things to stay busy on.
  12. Dash was in decent shape just needed a good cleaning and some paint refreshing. Have not found a decent original steering wheel yet so I painted one of the modern black ones. I’m sure the paint will wear off but works for now.
  13. Warmed up the garage this weekend and made some more progress. Was going to paint the cab off of the frame but didn’t want to take the chance of scratching while putting it on so set the cab on the chassis. Still have to move it forward but have a few things to do first.
  14. Have made progress with the cab. New wiring harness installed and dash is going back together. Got a little carried away and stripped the frame all the way down. Waiting for some warm weather to paint and start putting back together.
  15. Since someone asked. A little more on the truck. It has a ENDT675 Mack engine with a Mack 5speed. Rear ratio is 4.25 and has a wheel base of 147”. Great set up for pulling my 20’ car trailer.
  16. Keeping the hard nose. Makes it more unique and ads some character.
  17. The truck was bought new from York Mack by York Corrugated metal company February of 1974. They were the only owners and used the truck up until my father purchased it. Overall the truck is clean and in good condition. Can was rotted in the corners and up where the steel nose mounts. Going to replace with a galvanized cab with bowed back to give a little more room. Also goi g to add power steering. Have removed the cab and engine and brought the chassis into my garage to tear down further. Plan is to have completed for a truck show in May.
  18. My father picked up this 1974 Mack 3 years ago. Finally pulled into the garage to go through it and get it ready to pull my Mack AB’s to shows. It will be a frame up restoration.
  19. Starting the restoration of a 1974 Mack Rmodel and looking for beige cab paint.I have read all the post out there on the beige interior paint colors. Have not been able to locate any mack paint and was wondering what others have been doing for paint on the inside of the cabs. I have an old can of dark beige from Mack 30 years ago and was going to take to PPG paint supplier to try to match. What has everyone been using as far as Paint brands, part numbers and any pictures would be great. Thanks in advance for the help.
  20. I have a manifold available that came off of a 1926 Mack AB.
  21. I will get an estimate on shipping. Send me your email address and I will be able to respond quicker.
  22. I have the bottom piece to the one shade. I do have a second shade but have not located the bottom piece to it.
