  1. till the end comes i'll just keep being a diesel tech......observing and learning and soaking up the $$$$$$ that are being put out by the new technology. My tools cost me a fortune...yes they do.....but to own and operate costs much more and i'm glad that my given talent of being a wrench will pay off someday.... I don't care what is made where...(yes i do really...a whole lot) it is my job to train, learn and figure out how all this shit works together to make a system of something. Till the end...i'll praise pump, line, and nozzle motors and i'll just keep them as toys at home as restored antiques in the very end.....as one motor that will run no matter what, under any circumstance.I know they were still made all over the world and they still will run despite being 50 years old.(note....when i'm an old guy......80 or so).I'll be that old bastard at the drag strip with the sick diesel motor that has no electronics that is smoking the vintage ('98 if you call that vintage) mustangs........ there will be that day.
  2. We have a MB400-P with a VIN# of 2273 ....any idea of the year of make? Nevermind....handled. It appears to be in the '66 year area judging by the parts and engine in it.....but who knows what was changed...BUT judging by a 4 digit VIN it's old--er than most things on the road.
  3. It also has the supercharged Cummins motor in it and i will swear to that....the guys that built her have pics of her at the shop.I was told it is one of about 50 or so ever built with that engine..........a true screamer.besides the 5 or 6 Detroit 8V71 's that were built with that motor.........darn.....I would have liked to see an old LVSW with a big 12.71 done up but that one is still rusting in his barnlllllloh...wait they are building it very soon.
  4. 20,000 lb axle....key question....what is the diameter of the kingpin "bolt"....the smaller one is the lighter axle and the monster one is the bigger axle....that is if it's installed from the bottom....the one installed from the top is a 23,000 - to bastard 30,000 lb axle and not too many people use them. You can buy the removal tool from Exten they have a full kit with a chaser for about 200 bux.
  5. I know of one other B87SX.....but it is is a museum. It is at JBH IV's house in his museum of old trucks.she is a true ornate piece more the show but she never leaves the palace.
