  1. From what I have gathered the 61t might weight around 12K, if it was a 61s around 15k. 12k would be plenty to haul behind a pick up truck and stay legal and safe. As far as the 61st with out a motor and transmission, I don’t think you will have any problem hauling it with either truck. Personally I would put the 61t on the 21000 lb trailer, get as much weight up in the bed as you are comfortable with and let the trailer bear the rest of the weight. Just my take on the situation.

  2. I have crawled all around and found a bunch of numbers but nothing that I can make any sense of. Where do i need to look to find the number that wil tell me what size rears I have? Anyone have a picture of where this is located? Is the number stamped? Thanks.

  3. Do any of you guys have an engine block heater on your diesels, specifically a Thermodyne? I would like to install one to ease the wear and tear in the winter months. If yo have one where did you put it, where did you get it, etc.

    Thanks.

  4. I went threw the cab of a truck the other day looking for the serial number and could not find it on the door. I’m pretty sure it is missing but if I can pin point the location I will check for screw holes. Also, isn’t there one the frame some where? Is it on the drivers side or passengers and what is it near? How about the engine, transmission and rears, where might any identification for these be? I know very little about the truck and I am trying to do a little research. Thanks guys.

  5. the trunion your speaking of, do you meen both sides the left and the right? It is common for the fabricated trunions to crack down by the load tube they also rust on the inside towards the bottom and weaken as well. The cast ones are deffinatley tougher and less prone to cracking. Someone else here prob has something I left out. All Mack diesels are 1 gal low at the add mark.

Well sorta, both sides left and right are broke down by the load tube. If I remember right there looked to be two or three "webs". The front and back webs were cracked 3/4 the way across. Bear with me, im learning as I go and my vocabulary is limited.

  6. Hey guys, need some help. I was looking at a B61 and both trunions were cracked. The front and back of the trunios were cracked ¾ the width. The truck is a tandem road tractor, winch, fifth wheel and fairly short wheel base; what would have broke both of these? Was the truck just worked hard or abused? It doesn’t look too painful to fix these, is it best to replace these or risk it and try to weld them? Anyone have a pair they would be willing to part with, rough price? One other thing, in a 711 if the oil is barely showing on the dip stick how low it is, one two gallons?

    Thanks,

    Jake

  7. Boy I sure hope I can fit it in and get up this year, its right in the middle of hay season. Is there anywhere I can get directions to the show? It sounds like there will be a lot of truck parts and trucks. What else goes on there, I don't know anything more about the show but if there are trucks and food i'll be alright.
