Boy sounds like you need a picture. If no one has one handy I'll see what I can do to tear mine apart and get one.
-
You got it. Not enough Macks and no quads but I still wore it out. I'd love to see another one with more smoke and less bloat.
-
Not to beat a dead horse, but I got a video for Christmas and one guy made a good point, up shifts are first and down shifts are second. That will tell you which stick to move first when you are splitting.

Does anyone know the interior paint code for a B Model? I am about to the point where I need to get some, and can get a close match off of the glove box door but the sample is a bit off.

From what I have gathered the 61t might weight around 12K, if it was a 61s around 15k. 12k would be plenty to haul behind a pick up truck and stay legal and safe. As far as the 61st with out a motor and transmission, I don’t think you will have any problem hauling it with either truck. Personally I would put the 61t on the 21000 lb trailer, get as much weight up in the bed as you are comfortable with and let the trailer bear the rest of the weight. Just my take on the situation.

I remember you posting that, I saved it on my computer. I just can't quite picture where on the rear the rear axle number is. I can see from the picture the bogie number is near a drain plug.

I have crawled all around and found a bunch of numbers but nothing that I can make any sense of. Where do i need to look to find the number that wil tell me what size rears I have? Anyone have a picture of where this is located? Is the number stamped? Thanks.

Do any of you guys have an engine block heater on your diesels, specifically a Thermodyne? I would like to install one to ease the wear and tear in the winter months. If yo have one where did you put it, where did you get it, etc.
Thanks.

Thanks guys, this will save me some time and hopefully a lot of grease scraping.

I was afraid of this, what year power stroke do you have? I guess they will all be susceptible to this, better keep a look out.

I went threw the cab of a truck the other day looking for the serial number and could not find it on the door. I’m pretty sure it is missing but if I can pin point the location I will check for screw holes. Also, isn’t there one the frame some where? Is it on the drivers side or passengers and what is it near? How about the engine, transmission and rears, where might any identification for these be? I know very little about the truck and I am trying to do a little research. Thanks guys.

the trunion your speaking of, do you meen both sides the left and the right? It is common for the fabricated trunions to crack down by the load tube they also rust on the inside towards the bottom and weaken as well. The cast ones are deffinatley tougher and less prone to cracking. Someone else here prob has something I left out. All Mack diesels are 1 gal low at the add mark.
Well sorta, both sides left and right are broke down by the load tube. If I remember right there looked to be two or three "webs". The front and back webs were cracked 3/4 the way across. Bear with me, im learning as I go and my vocabulary is limited.

Hey guys, need some help. I was looking at a B61 and both trunions were cracked. The front and back of the trunios were cracked ¾ the width. The truck is a tandem road tractor, winch, fifth wheel and fairly short wheel base; what would have broke both of these? Was the truck just worked hard or abused? It doesn’t look too painful to fix these, is it best to replace these or risk it and try to weld them? Anyone have a pair they would be willing to part with, rough price? One other thing, in a 711 if the oil is barely showing on the dip stick how low it is, one two gallons?
Thanks,
Jake

That was a really nice show; it was worth giving up the first day of archery. It was good to see some equipment working, especially that old B model.
-
I was able to click the link and view the file on my PC. Looks to be about a 2 mb in size.
-
I could really get into a show like that, where is it located? Any near PA that you know of?
-
Boy I sure hope I can fit it in and get up this year, its right in the middle of hay season. Is there anywhere I can get directions to the show? It sounds like there will be a lot of truck parts and trucks. What else goes on there, I don't know anything more about the show but if there are trucks and food i'll be alright.
-
I hear that, i wasn's able to make it to the show this year but im sure some one has a pile of good pictures.
-
Hey great pictures, no better way to complement a tractor than with a trailer.
-
Thats a pretty wild screen saver, the guys at work will get a kick out of it!

Does the starter just stay engaged after it stops turning over, or does it engage and disengage quickly? Is there an easy way to turn the engine over by hand and make sure its all free and something isn’t tight?
-
I'd have to agree, all that nice new oil and an old filter. I would want to do the same thing and start it up, but it would be best to wait.
-
Do you have any idea where to get a skemattic? I've tried the local shops but they all laugh at me. What about the mack museum??
Here are a few that I found, some aren't the best but may shed some light.

Thanks for the hand book, I never knew that the systems could be that complicated. It has answered many questions already.

Have you tried double clutching on the up shift, with out giving it an extra throttle? I know it works well on a quad box when shifting the main transmission.
